Our annual Education Special is in the shops today and it's a cracker! If the beautiful cover isn't enough to make you want to pick it up then let me tell you about some of the great articles inside, to inspire and inform...
To open this issue we have a feature on tribal parenting, which explores how different cultures raise children and how they differ to ours in the west. Another main feature, Surf Child, looks at the life of radical unschooler and surfing guru, Dorian Paskowitz who decided to turn his back on society and spent nearly 25 years in a campervan with his wife… and nine children! Our reader story this issue comes from Catherine Harbottle who was inspired to go Off Grid on Sundays after reading an article in The Green Parent by Brigit Strawbridge. We’ve had many requests recently for an article on Steiner schools, so we are very pleased to have an interesting piece in our education special written by Fiona Longsdon on Steiner philosophy. Also in this section, Andrea Maynard visits an eco school in Herefordshire, Sarah Howcroft explores Shamanic education and we explain the importance of neighbourhood playspace.
