Natural decorations

What better way to bring nature into your home than with some natural decorations? There are lots of events up and down the country celebrating nature’s beautiful offerings and encouraging you and your family to get stuck in and make your own.

3rd December – Botanic Gardens, Oxford Come and admire the big botanic Christmas tree decorated entirely in natural treasures by local school groups. You can make your own natural decorations from seeds, leaves and pods, leave some on the big tree and take some to decorate your home. Free with entry to the garden.

4th December – Stowe Landscape Gardens, Buckinghamshire Join this free National Trust event making natural tree decorations for Stowe Landscape Gardens and some to take home. You’ll be able to use cones and greenery from the gardens but please bring your own too. Visitors will be able to wander through specially decorated Christmas trees displaying natural decorations on their way to picking up a free glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

17th and 21st December – Rutland Water Nature Reserve Get the whole family down to one of the most important wildfowl sanctuaries in Great Britain for their natural world inspired Christmas decoration workshops. £3 per child and you can enjoy a mince pie whilst you craft!

17th December – Barking Park, London For a free festive treat, join the ranger in making decorations out of natural materials like pine cone baubles or willow wands. Drop in anytime to make your crafts, no need to book.
