Plant a tree

First established in 1975, National Tree Week is UK's largest annual tree celebration, launching the start of the winter tree planting season. Every year hundreds of voluntary groups, local authorities, schools and community groups set up fun events, inspiring people to get their hands dirty and plant a tree.

A range of events are taking place around the country, from planting trees to art exhibitions. On 27 Nov, visitors to Linden Pond, Blackpool can take part in community tree planting. In Edinburgh at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Talking Trees Storytelling will be weaving their monthly magic on 20 Nov. Visit treecouncil.org.uk for events taking place near you.
