Pregnancy is a time of such intense changes that it can help to have a safe space to which you can retreat to process your thoughts and dreams. Here are some ideas.
Fertility counsellor, Riet Van Rooij suggests creating a sanctuary in your home. “Choose a spot that suits you. You could arrange a corner where you display objects that move you. This becomes a kind of altar. Arranging and maintaining such a spot is in itself already an activity in which you are granting yourself the time and peace to dwell, in a positive way, on yourself and your pregnancy.” Some suggestions of objects that you might like to place on your altar include: feathers, crystals such as rose quartz or blue lace agate, a journal in which you record your emotions and dreams around pregnancy, art depicting mothers and children, statues and fresh flowers.
