Subscribers have started receiving our December issue which hits the UK newsstands today. It's our Craft Special issue brimming with lots of seasonal projects, recipes, natural parenting advice and ideas... delve in!
The contents of our December issue kick off with Alison Bayne’s 24 ideas to parenting with soul, offering great ideas for bringing a more spiritual aspect into parenting and everyday life. This is followed by Lucy Brake’s selection of easily accessible weekend Winter activities sure to keep everyone happy without blowing your budget.
We have a hard hitting piece by Mark Hertsgaard who introduces us to ‘Generation Hot’ which includes some two billion young people who have grown up under global warming. Mark’s article highlights how the powerful movement of parents can campaign and take action to combat climate change and learn to live with it’s already irreversible effects.
Our Craft Special section is always a real treat to put together, with 3 lovely craft projects from Joan Gorman, we’ve got Christmas all wrapped up in one of Dad’s old shirts! Joan shows us how to make decorations, soft toys and wrapping ideas. After reading the article about Craft Camps by Ruth Oliver I wanted to book us up for next year’s Pyrites camp. A truly inspiring event for kids and adults where you get to create all day long, make new friends and learn new skills.
Having recently embarked on a gluten-free diet I was eager to try out the gingerbread recipe in our seasonal food pages (it does not disappoint!). Karen Morgan also shares recipes for other seasonal bakes and treats. And we have a delicious, rich, yet sugar-free Christmas pudding recipe, packed with organic dried fruit and nuts.
Other features in this issue include Rachelle Strauss telling the story of Rory, the woodburning stove and the struggle to heat her home in an eco friendly way; we take a trip to wild and wonderful Cornwall to seek out some great places to stay and also look at how we can acheive more time-out for our children.
We of course have lots of other goodies with articles on breastfeeding, babywearing and real nappies and to round everything off there is a Christmas gift guide with some of our favourite ideas for every member of the family.
You can buy a copy here for just £3.50 (inc P&P) or why not treat yourself or give a subscription as a gift and receive some lovely organic products as a thankyou.
Blessings for the festive season,
Jez
