Rose Howey is looking for new members!

Rose Howey Housing Co-operative is a large house on the edge of a
beautiful park near the centre of Liverpool. Its tenants are living
together to foster a supportive home which encourages communal living and
supports its members to engage with radical social change and ecologically
minded living. All communal spaces are vegan and there are currently seven
children living in the house, including some who are home educated.

The vision of the house also includes providing spaces for local community
projects (such as The Free University of Liverpool and Migrant Artist
Mutual Aid) and for larger national networks.

As far as possible, new members will be active in creating the vision of
Rose Howey, both practically with the necessary restoration and decoration
of the house and in creative terms by adding to the energy of the project.
However shorter term use of rooms will also be considered.

Hampshire Potato Day

Hampshire Potato Day is happening for the 15th time January 26th and 27th. http://www.potatoday.org I first heard about this in Green Parent magazine a few years ago and we really love it.

Potato Days happen all over the country. http://www.potato-days.net has some of them and are often family friendly events (but having only been to ours, I’m not going to guarantee that). Ours has crafts for the kids, potatoes for sale, local gardening organisations with seed swaps and a group that specialise in heritage/non commercial seeds. They’ve got beans you can’t get anywhere else! And ours gives a free seed potato to every child.

If anyone is going on Saturday, we might see you!

Is anyone going to this? 21 -24 June, Bruton, Somerset.

I am part of a women’s circle who have manifested a Red Tent over the last twelve months and will be offering workshops and women’s sanctuary space over the weekend.

Me and my smalls will be there on the Sunday, I hope we’ll see some of you.

Day of the Dead, Minstead

Minstead Study Centre are having A Day of the Dead event on the November 3rd. We’ve been to a couple of their other events and really enjoyed them. Here’s the info from the Facebook page.

A light of heart, reflective celebration of Lives lived, living and remembered, through Workshops, Craft activities, Altar, Fire faeries, Song Singing,Coffin Decorating, Prayer tree, Plan your own very fine funeral, Storytelling, ‘Do before I Die’ graffitti wall and lots more….
Dress warm for bonfire Fire Faery Finale!...followed by candle lit procession to a service at Minstead church.

FOR ANYONE EXPECTING DEATH AT SOME POINT IN THIS LIFE !

Entry £3 per person (or as you see fit to cover costs)....children welcome and free entry

Light refreshments available throughout the day.

Inspired by the colourful Mexican Days of the Dead and Dying Matters Week there will be a colourful altar space to which you may add photos, stories, poems memories of anyone you may wish to remember.
