I loved the Artemis gathering last year but am unsure, even with great friends going, that we will be up for it this year with a young babe but we are going to see how it goes Just wondering if anyone else was planning on going, it is a very relaxed pagan camp with loads going on - last year amongst other things we made great friends, listened to herbal healing history talks, took part in children’s play and entertainment, saw great belly dancing, observed rituals (as I don’t personally ‘do’ ritual but love seeing the energy raised and feeling involved). Discovered some amazing music and appreciated the pagan/alternative night club but didn’t go in with a young child, we danced outside instead…and I saw my first wicker man being burnt
http://www.witchfest.net/index.htm think it may still have last years info as it isn’t until the beginning of August but you can get an idea
We are (unless something serious comes up) going to the Mercian Gathering as it is just up the road from us and we can go daily http://www.merciangathering.com/merciangathering.htm#2010
We haven’t been yet as we missed out on tickets last year but it looks so good, lots of fire and celebration of the old Gods, apparently the UK’s largest pagan camp, should be good
Hope to see some faces there that I may know

Ohhh be lovely to meet you Helen
This combined with the GP meet, and Faery Festival is gonna be soooooooo much fun and meeting GP mamas - very exciting.
Also looking forward to seeing you Helen Must be serious if you have a dogsitter
And Jacqui, isn’t it wierd that we are both travelling to the other person’s part of the country…couldn’t be simple and meet in the middle could it So going to miss the GP meet up, if it were a little more time we would be there but babes will be so young for such a long journey and if anything goes array…
Very excited about the summer with all changes going on

I usually go to witchfest international in the november as the idea of camping with 2 LO on my own quite scary. I have a friend who might come with me, but she’s not exactly confident with babies! The Mercian one sounds good and very cheap, might give that a try if you guys are going!
Be fun carting camping gear all that way on the train, but I@m sure I’ll manage and the boy is getting big enough to pull his own little bag wink
Can always have a chat when we are down for Faery Fest Jacqui and see if there is anything you can borrow. thinking stuff like sleeping bags that really take up room. If it helps
Would be good to see you at one of the gatherings Anriel
