Hi everyone smile

I have a load of cloth nappies that have been through 2 children and are completely unuseable (holes, threadbare etc). Can these be recycled in clothing banks for rags or should I put them elsewhere? TIA smile

I don’t know much about clothing banks but my local charity shop takes any textile for rags which they then sell.

yes a textile bank (not a charity shop bank) sorts the materials and uses the rags for stuff like mattress filling etc.

We send nappies to two orphanages - one in Africa and one in Eastern Europe.  They are grateful for things people in this country just wouldn’t use.  If you would like to donate them to be sent to Africa please post to:
Lollipop Children’s Products
Bosigran Farm
Pendeen
Penzance
TR20 8YX
With a covering note saying they are for the orphanage.
We also have a collection centre in South Oxfordshire if that is any good.

Or your Household Waste Recycling Site (a.k.a. the dump/the tip!) should have a textiles container for all textiles (from rags to clothes) which will be sorted and used in whatever way is best.
