Glad to hear your exchange went through eventually - ours has been put off by a week so far but fingers crossed will hear today or tomorrow.

The house we are buying has photo thermal panels already installed which is exciting. Apparently they heat enough water for several showers per day which will help.  Lots of water butts as well and a large garden with veggie patch. Also found out that DH has a flock of bantams that we will be bringing up from his parents once we have moved. (I thought they were FILs but it turns out he has just been looking after them for the last 15years after they were given to DH when he was younger.)

Am hoping to go on a lime plastering course in the summer as several walls inside & out need re plastering. DH is also planning to build the new kitchen so will be stocking up on wood as soon as we are in ready to dry & season.

The current owners have also put in a wood/multifuel burner so looking forward to using that. DH want to plant trees around the boundary that we can coppice in the future to provide fuel. The house isn’t on mains gas - just an LPG tank in the garden.

The only downside to the house is no bath - the kids do like a bath a couple of times a week and I normally join them. They will have a shower though so can manage for a while.
