So I’ve just spent the last 15 minutes looking up the answers to the questions Jojo has asked me today and I didn’t know the answers to -
What is the Queens middle name?
Who ‘thought up’ Ravioli?
If kangaroos don’t wear nappies why doesn’t the pouch fill up with poo?

And it occured to me that I can’t be the only one who is bombarded daily with interesting but apparently random question. what funny questions have you been asked by your kids?

What fab questions, I particularly love the last one!!

Ravioli was surely thought up by the person who first bunged their half-chewed mince under the rug, while their parents weren’t watching!!! 

No you’re not the only one, (although my dd is at school, she’s very much a self learner) dd has bombarded me with questions like that probably daily for as long as I can remember and still does. She now also knows that if Mommy and Daddy don’t know then our good friend google does

The start to our HE journy was my son at 7years old waking me a 5am asking why the butterfly flapping its wings in our garden could change the weather!

I had ‘How do matches make fire’. Seems a simple answer until you try to explain it to a 4 yr old! It was a challenge that made me realise how much I would enjoy HE. it involved him asking ‘Can I make fire by rubbing my hands together?’ when I was halfway through and I realised that i hadn’t quite aimed it at the the right level!!

I often get questions that either totally flummox me or that are reallllllly difficult to explain to a 4 yo.

What noise do zebra make? They sound a bit like donkeys.

What noise do giraffes make? They don’t usually, but sound like sheep on the occasions that they do.

Why is iron strong? Argh! This was really hard to answer, but we talked about molecules and density in the process!

To mention a few, these are the ones that really stumped me!

what do pirates do? why do they fight over treasure? what will the pirates mummy say when he goes home with only one eye? that from my 4 yr old a while back…
we’ve moved on a bit now but i did think back then omg at the amount of questions i am going to get asked over the coming years!

But I was impressed by the friend of mine who replied to dd1, without missing a beat, “oh I should think a month or two, at least - it’d depend how big the snail was, really, but you might be quicker on a ladybird” LOL

what is water made up of??  easy enough i thought hydrogen and oxyen i said
but they are gasses and water is liquid, you told me that oxygen is flamable so why do fire men use water to put out fires ????
