Yes, we have that delightful problem! Grace has just been violently sick in the car. We’ve got her cleaned up ok, and she’s sleeping now, and we’ve stripped out the bits of the car seat which can be washed, but a lot of it is “in situ”. Obviously we have cleaned it (as best we can in the dark!) but it reeks! I don’t want to “febreeze” it - and we haven’t got any anyway, but is there anything I can use to get rid of the smell?!

A dish of white vinegar and a dish of bicarb (separately!!) in the car overnight with the doors /windows closed will get rid of the general smell.

Maybe you could try using bicard on the fabrics and hoovering it up a while later, like on carpets? Never tried this so I’m not sure

Hope Grace feels better soon x

Mark says activated charcoal is the best smell remover - they use it in air conditioning filters. AMazon it or go to a local DIY shop. It should be quite cheap.

Definitely don’t be tempted to febreeze it!  The one time I was tempted, the combined smell of sick and febreeze was truly gut wrenching and lasted for ages!

Would a spray of tea tree and water help combat any lingering bacteria that would lengthen the smell lingering?

In my aromatherpy book they suggest a general carpet deodoriser of bicarb in a plastic locking bag with few drop of essential oil,  shaken about then left overnight, next day sprinkle over and leave for a bit then hoover up, not tried it but might work xx
