Hiya ;D Does anyone have an Abel and Cole box? I have just put in an order for mine.  The box we used to get was more expensive and less flexible so we are giving A and C a go!  I was just wondering how people have found them?  Thanks

HIya, we have them and love it!  The flexibility suits us perfectly as I just log on each week and can take off anything we don't fancy!  I have also started getting their eggs and milk.  The milk is really yummy, esp full fat as it has lots of cream on the top and tastes noticably nicer than any other milk I've had!

Hiya Alice….they do sound good.  I like the fact that you can alter the order online.  I've ordered eggs too…..will have to have a look at the milk smile Wehey can't wait for Tuesday….do they usually come morning to you?

Yeah but its Wed with us, normally very early (before 6am so not actually sure what time as we are normally all asleep!).  Thomas loves "vegetables box day" as he calls it and puts everything away for me!

We've had an Abel & COle box every week for about 6 years now and have always found them to be very good. It's the flexibility I like about them too. With 2 rather picky eaters, I can't manage to make meals with unexpected things any more. We also get butter, eggs, cheese, yoghurt and sometimes store-cupboard stuff too from them. Very handy.

Yes I know what you mean Liz.  We`as a family get through a lot of veg and like most things but if it is something a bit more unusual firstly we have to cook it so it is edible and second we may not like it and then it is a waste of money we really can't afford to waste.  The other box we had did allow you to leave things out but you had to email them specially and it was all a bit complicated and I sometimes felt as if I was being a bit fussy and putting them to lots of trouble.  A and C have a really simple website  smile

Mad mum of 5 what a shame they don't deliver to your area.

Lincolnshire is one of those awkward counties I think.  We're neither north or souyh really.  Abel & Cole 'do' the very south don't they?

If you're in Lincolnshire have you tried Woodlands?  I think they delivr to most of the county.  Or Eden Farms at Spilsby, although they dont deliver everywhere and you may have to collect if you're nea enough.

About this time last year we got some correspondence from Abel and Cole, saying they were starting to deliver in the midlands as they'd opened a new branch somewhere around here.  So I am surprised they don't do the "middle".  Might be worth getting back in touch with them, and see if they have any plans to deliver in your area.

Another black mark for Buckinghamshire. :(

We have used Abel and Cole for around 18 months, but thought I would try a box from The Farm Shed this week as I had a leaflet through the door. The majority of their fruit/veg is from the Cheshire/Lancashire area so suits me perfectly. It arrived on Sat and was great. The things I didn't want were replaced ie oranges with melon and lettuce with aubergine so I was really pleased with my box. We had a family box same quantities as the Abel and Cole family box but £1.50 cheaper. Also had my milk and eggs from them. Am going to have another box from them this week and see how I get on. Was always pleased with Abel and Cole though.

Hi Lucie

I did have a Woodlands box for a few months and then I cancelled it as I seemed to get a lot of things that I didn't really use much (ie, Chard) and then we'd get about 6 tomatoes, which for  large family was impractical.  I understand that they can't let customers pick and choose, but I found I was starting to chuck a lot of things out (Chard again!!) and was still having to go and buy from the local farm shop.  Last Christmas we did have one of their organic turkeys though and it was really lovely and I've had some of their organic beef before too which was nice.  Have you had anything from Woodlands?  I'd like to take the children to one of their open days this year if I can as I think they'd enjoy it.
