Best as in successful AND price. We are researching having a third baby and I want to do it MY way this time. I got swept up in the whole commercialised madness with #1 and just followed suit with #2. This time I want cloth nappies, PROPER BF support so I succeed and a baby sling for proper baby wearing (not just the 3 way carrier that I had before).

So…recommendations would be great. If you could possibly tell me the name, where I get them from and the cost. Thank you.  x x x

I tend to use pockets
most reliable for best price are the ebay ones - think they are called happy flutes
i really like bumgenius flip but only have one
my other faves for reliability and prettyness are weenotions but they are crazy expensive
I like bambooty nights for daytime too

2 parters i found were all pretty similar. my faves were totsbots bamboozles.

if you are planning to use from the start diddy diapers and bimbles and kissaluvs are lovely for the first few weeks

night time we use huggles bt have also used the flip with great success

hope that helps! most of the above can be found easily preloved too

You’re going to get as many answers as there are brands of nappy, because the type of nappy you use is such a personal choice! And even within a family you might find the ‘best’ nappy varies from baby to baby depending on size and shape!

I started out with ‘one-life’ one-size birth to potties…...but they never fitted DS1 well so we gave up and used dispos. I tried them again with ds2 and they still didn’t fit great (my boys are long and thin) so we bought new nappies, I got advice on here and bought tots bots bamboozles and we love them. I prefer to use a wool cover over them personally. Then I borrowed a friends Bumgenius V3 and they are great too so now i have half and half. I use the bamboozles at night with a wool cover, and during the day with wool longies. Thenm also use the bumgenius if I want him to wear something other than wool (eg a sleepsuit etc).

Various nappy companies allow you to hire a ‘kit’ to try, various nappies before you buy….well worth it IMHO - bear in mind that what fits one baby (and Mummy’s lifestyle) might not fit another…....

Thank you everyone - I’ll search for some trial things (when the time comes). Ha ha! Gang of 4.. I have also got a bit post-tastic too today. And yes, I’m like you - should be doing housework, and work-work, and a million other things!! rolleyes  I do keep starting my “chores” but then a quickly check if I’ve got replies to my post and then there you go - I’m stuck on GP again!! Ooops!! Tut tut!!  And now I only have 1.5hrs before I have to go and get the children! And what have I done today?? (Apart from find out lots of important things about when/if I have a third baby - which we’ve not even 100% decided on yet! Lol!)...well….I did the washing up earlier. And I hung the washing out on the line….Moved some of the children’s toys into the shed (to be hidden until I can sell them!)...um…that’s about it.

Best get on! *sigh*. x

We used two parters - bambinex bamboo for daytime (from babipur) and little lambs (ours were second hand, but they have their own website) at night. Fleece wraps during the day - we used Nannie Cool ones, and the Pul wraps that came with the little lambs at night.

I loved bumgenius too!

I got a stretchy wrap off eBay for 20, plus a Mei tei. Later on we got a stiffer wrap off eBay again

Terry squares are by far the cheapest cloth nappies and if a ham fisted bloke like me can fold them anyone can.  Plus they dry quickly and you will never run out of cloths for the rest of your lifes, I think my mum is still using some of our old terries as cloths and I’m nearly 35.  They aren’t as easy as shaped, especially if you are out, but definatly worth getting some for back up and when at home. I think we got most of our nappies of ebay and other places on-line, and some from the council as part of a scheme to encourage use of real nappies - though by the time we got them they only lasted for a week before she was to big for them oh oh

I’ve done the trial scheme, really liked all the ones I got (although the prefold seems to be the bulkiest), and bought a load of nappies from the lovely GP Mamas. I am finding I really quite like the Motherease shaped nappies (I got them for a pound each and 30p for the inserts and I’m being brave and only using fleece liners (although I have a stock of disposables I’m going to pass them onto my friend’s daughter who’s just had a baby).

I stumbled across this website for good ways to fold nappies to suit you. Which is great as my LO has really chunky thighs, so the bikini fold will come in handy should I move onto the prefolds.

I have a lovely stretchy wrap from Tinokis (shame it’s in baby pink, I don’t much like the colour and DH won’t wear it outside the house) and I adore it’s user-friendliness.

Hope that helps hun xxx
