Hi All,
What do you use to strip your nappies?
Most of the nappies and wraps that I own say to not use white vinegar.

I usually do a cold rinse with tea tree oil before the main wash, and then I sue eco balls at 40 degrees. As Im not using detergent, would I still need to strip the nappies?

Thanks x

The need to strip is caused by a build up of detergent. So if you arent using detergent, then technically no need to strip.

When I strip my nappies, I basically just put them on a hot wash repeated until no more bubbles come out. I’ve never thought to use vinegar with it

I use a dishwasher tablet to do the wraps because they’re PUL, or lots of washing at high temps until there are no more bubbles..

If you’re using ecoballs, you shouldn’t need to strip your nappies, although if you are regularly using tea tree oil, the occasional strip wouldn’t harm, especially if your nappies appear to be getting less absorbent.  . However, with ecoballs I’d wash at 60ºC at least occasionally, even if you use tea tree oil- a recent recomendation I had is that 40ºC is fine for nappies if you’re using a biological powder, but if not, 60C is really required to be sure your nappies are bacteria free.
