Squash curry… chicken stew… any baking whatsoever involving apples!  smile

We’re still eating fairly summery here, even though my heart feels like it’s Autumn lol, the produce to hand is still resolutely early harvest.  (All the apples from our tree have already been used up though, the rate my children eat apples is astonishing…)

We’re eating lots of plum crumble at the moment!

Autumn is my favourite season for food. I plan on eating my own bodyweight in pumpkins.

I tend to switch to using the slow cooker more and eating lots of stews and curries, risotto. I also start wanting puddings despite never bothering the rest of the year!

Although the weather was still good (until this morning!) - the autumn harvest started a while ago here so we’ve been enjoying many apple and bramble and hedgerow crumbles and pies and some for the freezer.

Also enjoying preserving season - many apples and pears, tomatoes, beans, etc awaiting bottling, freezing, making into chutney, etc. And then there’s the preserving the wild food harvests - sloes, elderberries, rosehips ........

Looking forward to eating pumpkins - especially whole baked small sweet pumpkins with cream “a la HFW” smile
Pumpkin soup, pumpkin, chickpea & coconut curry, other curries, casseroles with homemade dumplings ... hmmm yummy Autumn goodness.
