I guess this is where I find out that everyone knew this already! But for those of you that didn’t here are some really simple weaving ideas - wish I’d found these sooner, will certainly be giving them a go once we move!

If you’ve tried these before, I’d love to know how you got on with it. Have a lovely evening x

A friend was telling me about the hula hoop rug the other day.  Looks really cool!

These are some of the things we’ve done with children at the guild I’m a member of - fun and get children really interested in crafts. The hula hoop rug is greeat for a group as it can build up and everyone has a go - this is one of the things I’ve been chatting to the teachers about and thinking of taking into school this year to do with dd’s class. I’ve been involved in making a couple of these with thick yarn and with tshirt yarn (recycled tshirts). I’ve seen the hula hoop one done with plastic bags too as a message about recycling, etc - looked cool too.

Easy looms can be made with just a piece of card or a small box (shoe boxes are great as they are usually strong enough to last a while.

I didn’t know this already!  I’ve often seen round, woven rugs in the back of the likes of Country Living magazine, but the cost is horrendous.  It looks like the hula hoop weaving would make the same kind of thing, so we shall definitely be having a go at that.  DS just doesn’t have a lot of patience with most crafts, but I have recently been going into his class and helping them with simple weaving on card and he has actually quite got into it and done a lovely job.  Hoping to keep his interest going this holiday now.  Thanks for the links x
