I am trying to simplify the number of different cleaning products I use and wondering whther anyone here has tried white vinegar and bicarb to wash up with and if so in what quantity / proportions? I was very impressed with the results when I cleaned the hob with it. Or any other ideas? I was also wondering about soda crystals but I wash up alot and think it might be to harsh on skin.
Thanks

You can boil up soapnuts and use the liquid. I use this for cleaning my floors. Doesn’t lather as much as traditional soap liquid.
I sometimes shove soda crystals in the dishwasher, but I think you would be advised to wear gloves to wash up by hand with those.

Thanks shazronnie, I’ll try that, any advice on quantities of soapnuts to water and how long to boil?

I just shove a couple of handfuls in about 2 litres water and boil for 30 minutes-ish. Not very exact I’m afraid…

Thats fine - I just did a search on this forum on soapnuts and lots of ides, and apparently the liquid will keep for a month (my other question) so I will definatly be going that route - thanks for the idea. cheese
