For Christmas?

Nephew 1: 21 years old, in uni,
Nephew 2: 17 years old, not working or in college

Both materialistic, but Newphew 2 very much more so.

Both health conscious and don’t really eat chocolate or anything sweet. So baking I feel is out
I can knit very basic stuff, and bought a scarf for N1 last spring in the sales (pre knitting days!)
N2 loves branded clothes, not sure what I could make him clothes wise

Willing to have a go at any crafts, just stuck for ideas

Heeelp!!!

How about sewing a “gadget sleeve” for i-phone, laptop, i-pad or similar?  All you need are the dimensions of an item they have, some wadding and some sleek, trendy fabric (OK so that’s the hard part!).

That is, assuming that brewing some home-made fruit schnapps/cider/beer is inappropriate/too expensive/difficult to make?!

Not to put a dampener on things but I doubt they would use anything you take out like a gadget sleeve, what about things you use at home?  Or something you eat, chutneys, relish, if they are health conscious oils for dressing salads or chilli’ed something?

Can you ask their family what they are in to to see if there is an accessory or something that would go with for example a sport?

How about some kind of herb/fruit vodka or something similar? You have time to make it and could put it in an unusual bottle, made individual for the nephew concerned? Or home brewed cider/beer in a similar bottle/whisky marmalade or that type of thing.  I agree with Sarie about gadget sleeve type things, I have two boys of that kind of age smile

My dad’s very similar - I agree, hand knitted or seen probably wouldn’t go down so well :(  A couple of years ago I found some stacking bottles and made some chilli, Rosemary and garlic oils - the resulting stack looked amazing - really trendy,  it was really cheap to do, and he still uses them. Healthy too, if you use olive oil as a base.

Sorry, completely OT, but Eden, where did you get the angry bird patterns from.  The four I have from Karla Fitch have been pulled, along with all the others she did due to Rovio threatening to sue her. I was so hoping to complete the set, so was mortified to find I couldn’t get the other patterns.

Hi, these are the ones I’m using - didn’t know about other ones. Hope these are useful, just some of the characters though I believe (having not seen the game although been told I’d love it if I looked at it wink)

ETA just remembered are the Fitch ones crocheted? These are knitted, I reckon you could easily adapt them for other characters. Maybe they’ll end up disappearing soon too then.
