Have just got into knitting thanks to my 6 yo DS who recently learnt it at school. Would love any knitting books, magazines, patterns (easy ones only at the moment) or other spare knitting related gear!

Get yourself registered on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com) if you haven’t already - lots of patterns available on there - anything you can think of, many free too.
Or free patterns are available on other websites too - e.g. http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory.php

Charity shops are always good to look out for wool on the cheap while your getting into it, and needles but you’ll need to ask for them as they don’t keep them on display.

Enjoy!

Yes, I’ve got loads of needles from charity shops! I hardly ever buy a pattern; there are so many on t’internet.
I know everyone here likes natural wool but I have to say inexpensive acrylic yarn is great for starting out and practising with. It also washes well which is good for kids clothes.
