Ooh this sounds lovely.  We’ll be home with family then so may actually be able to come to a meet (after 3 years on here).  We will be in Nottinghamshire so Birmingham or Derby would be fine.  I love this idea.
xx

27 th should be good for me. I would conceder coming on the train I think as driving far at the moment it harder for me with growing belly. I do think we need to find a free/pay per child kind of place. how about a church hall ??

Ok - I just spoke to a lovely lady at Friends of the Earth who said the room hire for an afternoon of 1 - 5 would be £18! This would allow us to make drinks and bring snacks etc, and if we wanted food from the veggie/vegan resturant upstairs they would bring it down.

The room is small though, so it would depend on how many we had, and they are not open on the 27th….which is a shame
I am looking at other venues, but if she hears of anything else she is going to call me (told you she was lovely)

Otherwise, would Derby be suitable for people if we were to take Random up on her lovely kind offer of visiting her house?

I can do other days, can anyone else? Birmingham is the easiest for us to get to.

I think their room would take about 15 max, she said there is not too much room to run around, but if people are happy with that then it should be ok

I am open to any day that week - I am away tomorrow but Ill call on Monday to check what days they can do

a small room really would not suit my tribe especially if we have been on a train for a couple of hours. I really don’t know any where to suggest as I am not from the Birmingham area. I will keep an eye on the tread and if we can get to where ever it will be I will do my best to get there.

We wouldn’t be able to manage Derby, but can do other days after the 27th.

OK, so who is seriously up for coming to Birmingham on the 27th?
Anyone got ideas for venues?

We need an idea of numbers so tell us if partners are coming and how many kids and I will look around, not promising anything wink  Any help appreciated!

I have just had a mail from a church in Tamworth that is two minutes walk from the train station - they are happy for us to hire out the room for a small donation, and its available on the 27th smile

Its quite large, so plenty of run around room, with the all important kettle and microwave available.

Tamworth is the next stop from Birmingham, and really easy to get to.  How does the 27th in Tamworth suit everyone ???

Sounds really good, Tamworth is real easy to get to on the train.
Is there a car park?

Yep, there is one outside, and a big one just across the road opposite the police station.

Ill start a new thread so people see it asking everyone to confirm so I can book the room.
