I conceder myself to be pagan and at the moment it seems really important to me, I would it to be more of a part of my life. I don’t know how…. may be as I don’t feel like I live very close to any other pagans I feel quite isolated when it comes to times of celebrations. not su how to move forward but feel like I need to do something.

Hmmm…kind of know what you mean, also have adopted pagan beliefs (as I wasn’t brought up Pagan) and have found it difficult to connect to others, but to be honest, while I was exploring my beliefs I was happy to be on my own. Perhaps have a read up on ways to celebrate sabbats that are meaningful to you, and plan to do something for Yule? x x

I am still feeling a little distanced from celebrations, etc. Every day I feel my path but feel like I want to do more, especially when my idea of a special meal and celebration - home cooked, several dishes to have a little bit of and bread specially made for the family and friends - is different to dh’s and the kids idea - take away lol.

Why don’t you arrange a Yule meet up, around the time of the Solstice for a shared celebration?
I would be up for travelling a little way but I’m not staying at yours wink

You’ve got me thinking now, dangerous lol wink

What is your idea of a perfect celebration? For example the upcoming Winter Solstice?
Do you involve the kids and Mal in celbrations? Do they want to be included?

We’re having a big Yule meal with other parents, some Pagan, some not. We basically just said that it was a family-and-friend orientated festival, that everyone whould bring some food to share, and that we were celebrating the people who bring light into our lives.

We’re very lucky as we have a little Pagan group here, maybe it’d be worth seeing if there’s on in your area? x

It varies from person to person, shared views often include a love and respect of the Earth, following of the cycles of the seasons and some people celebrate various festivals (but not all do before anyone picks me up on it lol)  There have been some really interesting discussions on this topic though.

I’ve been feeling this too - and I was given the book ‘Celebrating the Great Mother’ for my birthday, which has really helped! It’s given me some lovely ideas for things to do at home to feel more connected with my beliefs more of the time - like building a little yule cave in the garden. It’s good for me because I’m still exploring which bits work for me and which bits I don’t intend to follow and you can really pick the elements that resonate with you.

dh doesn’t really have pagan beliefs if fact he is fairly non religious but if any thing was to lean his way pagan is the closest to it.
he really isn’t interested in celebrations of dates and I don’t believe I should make the children do something, however I think I would to start a family tradition for Yule. may be we could make some mince pies,. walking right now is hard for me being so pregnant and needed to wee lots. as otherwise I would love to take kids for a walk in the woods. sun rise and set are also import ant for me on Yule as shortest day and I start to feel optimistic about the coming spring.

any one have any ideas ??
