Was speaking to a midwife a while ago about this.  A lot of women seem to get get several false labours with second babies.  Your body knows what its got to do and has several practices at it before the main event.  And in all of the labours she’d seen like this, they were good and quick when it came to the main event. 

From one who knows how miserable it is at the end, when the end then comes and goes and you enter extra time, a big hug.  But in less than a month, you’ll have a new baby.  In less than a month, you’ll be snuggling down with a little one with that new baby smell.  And in less than a month, you’re washing load will double!
