just wondering if anyone can recommend some childrens books based on same sex relationships for our dd2 and dd4. We were just discussing tonight that the whole princess and the prince storyline is not really the only one we want the girls to grow up with and that childrens books. movies etc are all a bit one sided.
thanks in advance

We have a book on Grace’s Amazon wish list which might fit the bill - it’s called “And Tango makes three”, and is the true story of two male penguins in a consevation centre who adopt a baby penguin. We haven’t read it yet, so can’t offer a review, but it might fit the bill?

Hi, this came up on the UU homeschoolers list a little while ago and these were the books that were recommended:

The Sissy Duckling

And Tango Makes Three

King and King

10000 Dresses

Everywhere Babies

And there’s another list of recommendations here.

Hi wondermob. Happy New Year to you all. Sorry for late reply. After seen your posting, got onto Amazon and found few children’s books on the topic. We ordered Johnny Valentine’s The Duke Who Outlawed Jelly Beans, and it’s an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it. Happy reading, Bianca
