Is it just me or do your littlies develop pram preference at around one? Mine all have it seems. Well, with DS I got SPD from being pregnant when he was 1 so I kind of encouraged that one I guess. Both DDs were 99% slung until 10 months when they occasionally went into the pram (heavy library books or shopping or picnic meaning a pram was useful) but by just after one both were happier in the pram. DD2 is still slung or carried most days but, unless she has fallen asleep, tries to climb out of it! She gets her arms out, pushes up and literally tries to climb over the top, or hits me in the face/pulls my hair, or leans way way back in the sling. I remember DD1 doing the same. Both seemed/seem much happier in the pram. I wonder if it’s the extra freedom of limb movement??? DD1 went back into being carried closer to 2 and would happily be carried now but at a big 4 kills me to lift up wink (skinny but long!) I will continue slinging DD2 when it’s easier (places with steps/needing hands free etc) and using the pram other times. I secretly hope she gets back into it as she grows up a bit too because I LOVE babywearing and she’s my last baby.

Nope lol, my babies want to walk EVERYWHERE themselves at that age, then go back to being a bit clingy-cuddley at 18mo, then want to walk everywhere again at two.  wink

But then we don’t own a buggy at all, so they don’t have that option.  They do like to be that bit more free when they start to walk, but for us that means walking, since they’ve all been on their feet so early!  If they resist being in the sling they have always just been put down, but then they haven’t started to resist until they could walk…

When Leo started walking at 15 months he wanted to walk everywhere, about 2 he loved being in the sling again and at 3 he started asking to go in the buggy!! All the wrong way round!  LOL  Now at 4 he’s very good at walking long distances but his favorite place to be is on Daddy’s shoulders! xxx
