How did you listen to the music during labour if you were in hospital?  Do you think I should take my speakers with my MP3 (they’re not the tiniest of speakers!) or would my earphones be ok?  I kind of like the idea of listening to it without the earphones but just wondering if earphones might make me hear it better and help me to switch off.

What did you do?

I put it on the iphone - when we got there I put it on speaker next to me and played it until the battery run out. I am sure it drove everyone mad, but I was aware of it only occasionally, and tuned into it when I needed to. It seemed to do the job this way
Earphones would have driven me mad during labour!

I had a whole playlist ready to play on my laptop, but with a 2 1/2 hr labour from start to finish, I didn’t have time to put it on! smile

I think earphones would have been awful though, and not really waterbirth compatible…

Also, have pm’d you Skye, did you get it? x

When I had Leo in hospital there were cd players in all the rooms. Might be worth checking with your hospital if they have the same.

I took a CD into hospital but had earphones during most of my labour at home and they didn’t annoy me at all. Although, I had used the earphones in the night during my pregnancy when I was being woken by very strong braxton hicks.
