After last weekend when an event which I’ve been organising, and that’s kept me very busy the last few weeks, finally happened and was successful, I feel like a weight’s lifted off my shoulders. There’s room to breath and to think. Time to do unessential things.

So today, first I need to tidy the kitchen and wash up from last night. Then some friends are coming round for our sewing club, where I’ll continue knitting the placemat I started last night. Then I’ll go into town to buy some yarn for an Owly Snuggle sack and hat for the baby currently growing inside my friend’s tummy. I wasn’t going to buy any more yarn until I’ve used what’s in my stash, but this is an exception! Yay!

I’ll need to think about what to have for dinner - something warming as it’s freezing here! Probably sauerkraut I think. Pick up some potatoes and sauerkraut. Cook the stuff which is easy.

Tonight the girls have swimming club and on my way back I’ll pick up some maps from a friend’s, to use for Saturday’s Beaver activity in the park.

Meanwhile the sun is shining, although it’s very cold, so a lovely day to look forward to! What are you up to?

Love, Sunshinexx

I have already had the most exciting bit of my day…the panels for my walk in chicken run were delivered half an hour ago! So chook palace will be being constructed at the weekend!

Doing housework this morning, then meeting a friend for lunch and play at the Wildflower Centre. It is a lovely freezing cold sunny day, my favourite weather!

Well so far this morning I have spent my time cleaning up the copious amount of poo that exploded out of DD2 nappy and she then smeared all over the cot, wall, curtains ect.  So now doing a load of washing, then when we are all ready we are going to walk into town to the health food shop to get some things then probably going to have to study a bit but hopefully have some lazy time as DD2, DH and I are all in various stages of the same cold.  Hopefully DD1 won’t get it, but she seems to have a great immune system and rarely gets ill, please don’t jinx me now.

it’s beautiful here too - cold and sunny. I’m going to go out for a walk and then probably go shopping. I hate shopping but doing it on a sunny day makes it bearable!

Then I have heaps of online work to do (groan) and the house is a bombsite, so it’s going to be a case of prioritising and staying focused on what needs to be done; when actually, I’d rather be outside all day wink

I too have been cleaning up poo! Claudia managed to let it roll down the side of the nappy, and her pyjama leg on to the carpet, before trying to wipe it up herself….with a tea towel!

We are up together with house work, so I quickly washed the patio doors as they were covered in muck, I seem to have to do this daily! The smaller two are playing with big sisters sylvanians, whilst she is at school, and listening to the mammamia sound track, not a lot of homeschool happening today. We will make cakes and soup soon though.
After lunch I’m taking them to John Lewis, to buy a new oilcloth for the table, and browse the yarn and fabric…mmmm. it’s about half an hour away so too far just for that really but it’s too cold to walk much today. I’m not sure we should go out at all really as the fire will die, and I’m not that good at making another one! The heating keeps clicking on, even thought the thermostat is at 15, I hope it warms up soon or we’ll be out of oil.

Tonight is roast night, as everyone is here, no clubs or anything, and the kids have demanded real roast potatoes, not new or mash, so I can’t be lazy. Chocolate crunch and pink custard for pud too!

We were supposed to be out today, and going to breastfeeding group - but today, like yesterday has gone to pot. Never mind, means I can get on with the work I have to do and see mum Mum for a bit.

Roo is happily trying to chew her way through all my post today and I am going to avoid the kitchen at all costs. So in answer to the question - lots of planning, research, pattern drafting, fabric cutting, making a sea and den out of fabric for Roo (her new favorite thing) and anything but housework.

Enjoy you day’s everyone x

Been feeling really low and down for a while, stressed too, so today have decided to take it easy.  Am going to have lunch with Oliver (baked potatoes beans and cheese) then put him down for his nap.  he was up early this morning and seems really tired so am hoping he will sleep longer than normal.  Have decided to avoid housework and studying and to just go and sleep when he does till I have to pick Harry up from school.  Then might 0ut a dvd on and snuggle on the sofa till I have to make tea.  Am really copping out today, but I really need a rest!

BTW, pink custard and choclate crunch sound wonderful - if I wasn’t being good I would so ask for the recipe!

Clearing out the greenhouse in preparation for taking delivery of 100+ bare root fruit trees at the weekend!

Got some clearing done generally in the garden too and planning the year ahead at least in our heads. Just preparing some lunch now with some discovered beetroot from one of the beds in the garden and some oca and cabbage leaves, and was surprised to come in log on here to find someone asking about Oca grin

Not sure what the afternoon will bring yet ...

Off to take T and our puppy, Pippa for an audition for CBBC’s “Who Let the Dogs Out” this afternoon. Fingers crossed it goes ok and that they aren’t too nervous to enjoy it!

Should have probably added - they aren’t all for us! We’re taking delivery of them for the local transitions network who have sold them to order to encourage more fruit growing in the city and thus creating a “virtual orchard” in the city - Treemendous!

We have ordered a couple amongst them wink

Been struggling to get the momentum to anything recently, being carless and it so cold with a daughter who doesn’t like wearing hat and gloves (coat if I am lucky) means doing anything just seems too much.  However, after deciding to do something about it and go on the bus to a nearby town, I then chickened out and phoned my Mum to see if she could take us!  Good old mum, she came to my rescue.  Have now got fabric and food!  Got home to find a neighbours cat has broken our Galileo thermometer all over the laminate flooring in the dining room. So have been trying to soak up the oil, whilst avoiding the shards of glass.  Will have to have another go at it after picking up the boys from school.  Don’t want anyone slipping on it.

Made a stew then discovered this morning that Rosie our new house rabbit has been “digging” up the new carpet and now we have a bald patch grrrrr so this morning was taken up erecting a roll out “fence” between the sitting room where we have lovely new rugs and the dining area where her house is and her rugs are.
Then my sister came over with her new baby and after lunch I spent some more time rabbit proofing the wires and now thinking will have to get to the park to get her a lump of wood as she’s started chewing all the wooden furniture confused

New fridge was just delievered so the kids are now playing in the huge box it came in and thats about it, lazy day.
Just off to MIL for dinner then to my sculpture class where i need to work on my giant thumb mad  which is driving me insane and not the creative project i was hoping it to be.

can’t say i agree about loving the weather, the sunshine is great but the -6 is a bit much brrrrr maybe cause it’s our first winter in more than 8 yrs rolleyes
