Hiya,

It’s my dd1’s 4th birthday in half term and I’d like to do a small craft project with her and her friends at her birthday party, so I’m looking for ideas please.
It needs to be something simple but I’d like them to have something nice to take home with them at the end.
Don’t want it to take more than 30 mins and something they don’t need too much help with, although all the parents will be there too, so they can get some help smile
There will be about 8 of them mostly girls, 1 boy.
We have loads of space and I don’t mind things being messy, I just want them to enjoy themselves.
Any ideas would be very welcome,

Thanks

For Dds fourth birthday I bought White cotton tshirts and fabric pens. Then had a batch of biscuit dough made up and plopped it on the tables with a selection of cookie cutters and baking trays. The party bag consisted of their decorated tshirts and handful of biscuits smile

Ooo, I like the sound of all of that smile thanks!

Still open to more ideas - think I might start a notebook to keep party ideas in so I can dip in when birthdays are looming and my mind goes blank.

Make their own party hats, use cut out cone shapes then they can decorate and stick together to make cone, adult help for adding elastic/string.

Make musical instruments- drums/shakers etc they can make them then use them, if you don’t mind the noise!!

We went to a Fifi party and the mum had painted some terracotta plant pots, the children then decorated them with stickers and they had a cirle of card with hole cut in to put in as the soil then lolly sticks and these funny things that looked like wotsits or packing material and they made flowers on lolly sticks.  They looked nice, were pretty easy and everyone was very proud of them.  If you felt braver you could let LOs paint the post then maybe plant a real plant or seed inside?

Thanks, more great ideas smile I’m definitely using the party hat one. And I love the planting one - with real plants, but think I’ll keep that for dd2, as her birthday is in may when it’ll be warmer for doing it outside!
