As it says - what is your full mean plan for today?
Interested to see how a whole day pans out rather than just the main meal.

Our meal plan today goes like this:
Breakfast - porridge with honey and sultanas, as most winter mornings
Morning snack - Banana & Pecan loaf (baked yesterday,  the last remnants of last nights supper)
Lunch - Beetroot soup and shop bought wholemeal rolls
Afternoon snack - Ricecakes, hummous, sprouted seeds, apple and pear slices
Evening meal - stuffed aubergines, fruity couscous and salad
Dessert - lemon drizzle cake
Supper - Toast and jam

So whats your food day look like?

Oh and another question - do you consciously try to plan a full nutritious meal plan each day, balancing carb, protein, 5 a day etc or do you tend to let it even out as the days go past?

Breakfast - cereal (for all except DD1 who hates it), croissant (for kids), blueberries and strawberries (for kids), mango and passionfruit smoothie
Snack - cereal bar for me and DS, bit of her chocolate snowman for DD1, dried fruit stick for DD2
Lunch - Quorn turkey or cheese sandwiches, olives, tomatoes, Organix crisps (“real” crisps for me *blush*), fruit puree tubes, squash
Afternoon snack - probably dried fruit bar or satsumas
Dinner - gnocchi with homemade tomato and garlic sauce and mozzarella on top, dough balls (quick for DH to do as I take DS to his gym class)
Not sure on dessert, either melon, frozen yogurt or rice pud
We don’t do supper as kids go to bed 6.30pm

I tend to try and get a balance each day but am aware it usually balances out overall and some days are better than others, especially if we eat out.

Oh you are all so organised!

Breakfast: children varied.  ham sandwich for Ds2,  chocolate stars for DD and DS3, Ds1 got up too late, and I only had breakfast at 11am when I realised I’d forgotten (again!)

Lunch: sandwiches, yoghurt, fruit and cereal bars for children, me, well I’ll just have what I can find, I find it difficult to get excited about preparing something just for me

After school snack, eggy bread

Tea - beef stroganoff and rice in slow cooker, but worried there won’t be enough for us all, so may have to try to scrape something else together.

Supper toast

I never try to do the whole 5 a day, I figure it balances out, and I trying to keep track of what everyone eats would be an utter nightmare!!

Don’t know why I’m replying really as feeling very rubbish that ours is so useless in comparison! Maybe someone else feels the same though, and it’ll help them to know they’re not alone, lol.

Breakfast for me and two littles was oats with oat milk and raisins. Oranges and apples. Dd1 had toast and butter.
Dd1 made peppermint creams so she and ds had one.
Gluten free pasta and pesto for lunch
Fruit and very sugary flapjacks or cookies that we made for snacking on
No idea what for tea yet, was going to be some kind of tart thing but just realised we have no veg and 3 ill children. Pasta and pesto is normally my back-up but that’s lunch! Bugger!
And then ds wants to make something for dessert and they’ll go to bed and then dh will go out and I’ll eat lots of chocolate and cry. Or something else fun.

Wish I had lots of tasty things in the cupboard today, your meals all sound yum!

FC I keep looking at our cupboards and feeling so uninspired.  And there is never anything tasty in there, because all the yummy stuff is gone sometimes before I’ve had chance to unpack it!!

We had rice crispies and raisins and toast for brekkie

Dippy boiled eggs and soilders for lunch

Snacks so far - bananas and oatcakes.

Dinner, will be grilled salmon and rice and veggies followed by a yogurt unless I get all inspired between now and tea time! Not really very exciting but does the job!

Have a nice day smile

Some weeks I’m not organised and it’s just what is easiest to make/ grab!! Most weeks I write a lunch and dinner menu and buy accordingly to budget etc. This week we are organised, but last week was mostly jam sandwiches and cereal and pasta!! (Yes, every day!!)

Breadkfast: home made wholemeal toast and shop jam, multigrain hoops
Snack: celery and carrot sticks. DD had cheese and DS had hummus as they are really hungry today!
Lunch: homemade bluebrry muffins (from cooking lesson yesterday), strawbs and grapes, choc banana smoothy
Pm snack: snoozy hot choc (hot choc with cham teabag - knocks mine out like a light as they could do with a nap) and blueberry muffins or fruit
Dinner: Cheese souffle and veg or leftover curry if it defrosts in time!

this post has made me really hungry (and I’ve only just had lunch…...)

Oh, I forgot - I don’t plan 5 a day/ carbs etc, just end up hoping that if I offer enough of it during the day that it will work out. Although if they start eating carbs all day, I do try and offer more fruit. But that makes me sound more organised than I actually am!

FC - This is a good day for us. Tuesday is our full cupboards day as I shop in the morning and the veg boxes arrive in the afternoon. This means wednesday is usually our healthiest, most organised day of the week! Thursday and Friday I work all day so DH is in charge of lunches, generally something on toast, and evening meal is usually something thrown together like bean wraps/slow cooker soup or stew, biscuits for dessert. I’m working all weekend too this week so will be so knackered by sunday that we will end up with baked spuds/beans/cheese or take out. And then mondays are always “whats left in the fridge” curry.
Feeling a bit uninspired too of late and our diet has been rapidly deteriorating due to all the illness here, hence the post. Looking for quick ideas…..

For me it is just survival - what I can get the to eat.

Breakfast: Children- weetabix (they both eat this as a biscuit) bleurgh toast and fruit spread. Milk
          us - toast

Lunch: children: Peanut butter sandwiches, yoghurt, babybel, flapjack and fruit.
        me; anything I can find.
dh: Pasta and three pepper sauce.

Tea; ds1: pasta, veggie sausage, cucumber and carrot (roll eyes)
ds2: pasta and three pepper sauce
dh and me: Leek and potato soup that I have yet to make.

Tomorrow:

Breakfast for the boys same as above
dh and I potato rosti, spinach and poached eggs.

Lunch: ds1 the same as above
everyone else: Leek and potato soup

Tea: ds1 I haven’t a clue
everyone else: Delias vegetarian cottage pie.

I love cooking and organising food but I feel drained with dh1’s eating habits

Hmm - breakfast on the run this morning
DS - left over haggis, mash and turnip, fried up (his request)
Me - cup of chicken broth from slow cooker
Dh - wholemeal toast and jam

Lunch - DS has a friend home from nursery for the afternoon, so stuffed crust pizza and garlic bread, ice cream and flake.  Little friend didn’t like the pizza, so had slices of cold ham instead - lol

Dinner - no idea - still some haggis, garlic bread and pizza left, so - haggis pizza maybe wink

Ah, Weds is the worst day here - too long since last weekend and too long until the next one!! All the children are in vile moods and dh is now going out later so I can’t force myself to the zumba class I really want to try and then have a nice dinner with him so I just feel moany!

I made some more bread so feel a bit less useless now but still no ideas for dinner! We had a fruit and veg box yesterday but there’s nothing in it that’s useful - we ate the pineapple yesterday and now only seem to have cabbage left…

Uninspired and uninterested in cooking today, so don’t worry Fairycakes, mine’s a dull list too, duller than yours for sure.

Breakfast - dd cheese on toast (the breakfast of choice most days); me - erm missed it again!
Lunch - dd packed lunch at school, me - crackers and cheese and crisps!
Dinner - Dd asked for fishfingers and chips which fitted well with my not being interested to cook day smile. Dh and me may well have the same or something similar today.

We have been having homemade Oca Homity pie with veg, and other lovely homemade things recently and have a big veggie casserole with dumplings on the menu for tomorrow, but today ... is my can’t be a**** day in the kitchen this week wink
