Just wanted to share with you - as I know you would understand my excitement!- that I managed to knit my first cables ever, and they look ok! Yay!! I’m making this gorgeous Owlie hat http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/owlie-hat for my friend’s baby to be born in July. Isn’t it lovely?!  I was going to make the Snuggle Sack too, but not sure how useful that would be in July… I may adapt this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-snuggle-wrap instead and add the owls somewhere. What would you say would be most useful? It’s been awhile since my girls were babies.

My MIL made a small blanket and added a fleece backing for our LO and we use it all the time…it’s perfect.

They both look lovely, I would find it hard to choose.  It depends where she lives in the country.  I am in the North and both would have been useful for me even in the height of summer!
