Hi all, my dear friend is planning to come over this summer, and besides visiting us, they’d like to go to Wales. They’d like to visit the north coast of Wales, and would like recommendations for villages/small towns there, where they can stay in a B&B for a couple of nights. It’s not so much the actual B&B’s they;re after, but rather the towns themselves. Which ones can you recommend?

Many thanks!

Love, Sunshinexx

Hmmm..sooo many places it depends on what exactly they’re after! And how near the coast? Will they be driving or train?

Snowdonia is gorgeous….loads of places to go there,

Conwy itself is fab too, very accessible by road, rail or bus, gorgeous quay, fantastic castle, lovely walks, really old town with interesting little shops, mostly independent so not your typical high street.

Whoops gotta go out, but if you have an idea of what they are after in more detail then I’ll come back on later tonight or tomorrow.

I second Conwy - very pretty smile And Beaumaris is lovely too - same sort of thing, lovely castle, seafront, nice shops, pretty town. I really enjoy Llandudno too, but it is a little more touristy and bigger, although you can find quieter spots and it could be a good base (better if you are driving).

I used to live in N wales as a kid and loved it! Abersoch is very cute, worth a visit. Porth Dinllaen http://www.tycoch.co.uk/ was one of our fave places to visit and you’re close to Nefyn/Morfa Nevyn and Pistyll all on the Lleyn Peninsula.

I know it gets alot of bad press but Blaenau Ffestiniog is very beautiful, with lots of lovely hidden walks. Slate mines there are pretty awesome and the Ffestiniog Railway is pretty lovely too, the stress less way of taking in the scenery. I think it is quite expensive but very much worth it. The line finishes in Porthmadog. North wales is one of those places that if the sun is shining then one of the most beautiful places on earth, but if its raining, well, it’s just not the same!

Hope this gives you a couple of ideas,

Charlotte
