I am so happy to announce the birth of a little sister for Leo! Baby Ella was born yesterday at 3.37pm weighing 7lb 7oz.
I started having mild contractions around 9am yesterday morning. By 1.30pm I felt I was in proper labour they were coming 7 min apart and starting to hurt. I had a bath at 2pm and around 2.30pm I got out and things really sped up! The contractions were coming every 4 min and very strong. I had to ask my friend to come round in a taxi (to be quick!) to get Leo and then another friend dropped everything to drive us to the hospital. On the car journey the contractions were coming every 2 min and I found it very unpleasant having to sit down and not be able to move much. As we arrived at the hospital I got out the car and had another contraction leaning over my friends car - I felt myself pushing and the head coming and some of the waters trickle out. We got up to the birthing unit as I had another contraction - I was then taken in a room and asked to do a wee sample - I went into the bathroom, pulled down my knickers and had another contraction - I shouted out ‘the head’s coming!’. My DH had gone into shock by this time! I leaned over the bed and shouted for someone to pull my trousers off then I got on all fours on the bed and pleaded for some gas and air! I then started pushing Baby Ella out and 5 min later she was born!
We were home a few hours later and settling into family life as 4
