Decided to go for the Storchenwiege Inka after thinking the Ellaroo might be a bit thin…..anyone had a storchenwiege and would reassure me this is a good choice? Want something nice and supportive for long carries.
Where did you get yours from? I seem to be able to find them for £69 and nowhere cheaper or second-hand? smile

Storch are very good and one of the cheaper German-style wraps. I love my inka! Not looked recently do don’t know about the new price but have you looked on ukbabywearingswap (a yahoo group) or naturalmamas for 2nd hand? They do hold their value well though. They’re incredibly supportive and comfy so I think you’ve made a great choice! Tbh the GSW’s(hoppediz, didymos, storch, girasol) are very similar in their supportiveness, although each has it’s own slight differences.

Girasols are gorgeous and soft smile All of mine were bought second hand from the yahoo group I mentioned.

Can’t access the yahoo group for some reason and can’t find any storches on the FSOT board on natural mamas. Guess I’ll buy new, though not keen on the ‘breaking in’! How long does it take a woveb to soften up?

I had a Storch Inka from Big Mama Slings and loved it; that said, I had it converted into a mei tai-style carrier by Fay of Opitai Baby a few months back because, at 5.2m, it was too long for a wrap on me really. The Storch was lovely, though - very soft, and didn’t take that long to break in once I started sleeping on it! wink

I also have a Girasol - an Earthy Rainbow - which I bought from following threads on the Natural Mamas website; lots of vendors list when they’ve got new stock of Girasols in there, so you might find you could get yourself added to a waiting list. I think mine came from Mama Natura, after a short wait for a new delivery. IME the Gira is a little softer and got that way a bit faster, but they are both lovely slings. smile

Storch’s are a great workhorse wrap
I have Storch Leo and love it, didn’t require much breaking in, but the Storch stripes can need a bit, but soften up nicely

We have a Storchenwiege too, and a Didymos.  They are fairly similar, but the Storchenwiege is a bit thicker (we have one of the stripy ones—too hot for hot summer weather, generally, but great in the winter!) and the Didymos is a slightly stretchier organic cotton.  We love them and still use them for our DD who’ll be 3 in June.
