Out of interest, at what age did you start putting your LO’s in clothes?  Our DD is now just over four months and I’m still dressing her in vests and PJ’s as every time I put her in clothes I think she looks really uncomfortable and end up putting her back in her ‘comfy clothes’.

Would be keen to know what you have all done, Jen x

My little boy is 5 months and I would say from about 2 months I statred putting trousers (comfy ones) and jumper over the top of his PJs (all in one suit) but mainly because it was really cold then as it was winter and all the extra layers made a difference. But prob for about a month now I have taken him out of his PJS and properly dressed him in the morning, but I do generally put him in tights under his trousrs as Im still worried about him getting cold grin
I know what you mean about them b eing uncomfortable and I never put him in jeans as they seem to stiff, mainly joggys or soft dungerees.
But really I think it makes no difference, you could dress them in PJs until they were a year or so and they wouldnt care so think its fine.Loads of other babies at my baby group are dressed in all in ones still. grin x

We dress our babies in footed or footless babygrows until they can walk (and beyond, but that’s when they start to wear “real” clothes). The exception is dungarees with long sleeved vests - tend to start those at about 6 months. I like babies to look like babies smile .

baby grows here until the need for separates such as walking and falling over, so only then need to change bottoms. or when they start using a potty as poppers and pottys are a pain !!! footed baby grows move footless ones when they start pulling themselves up to stand so they can feel there feet on the floor and are less likely to slip

with DD1 it was around 3-4mths I started to put “normal” clothes on her. But most of the time she was in babygrow til she was around 6mths or so

With DS and DD2 we did/are doing EC and they’ve rarely been in them, they mostly wore/wear shirt+baby legwarmers

My son was pretty much wearing sleepsuits full-time until 6 months, now he usually wears trousers and t-shirts (and jumpers), but everything is loose and comfy, no buttons to lie on or tight restrictive materials - so he’s gone from the PJ to sweatpant look! I’ve never put him in jeans as I think they just can’t be comfy at this age and aren’t very conducive to movement!- though he does have dungarees he wears occasionally.

Mine are in baby grows until at least 6 months, then babygrows, dungies, or leggings, or tights and short dresses, but they have to be soft and stretchy clothes and definitely no denim or mini adult stuff. I love them in babygrows, but sometimes I get fed up of people thinking I haven’t bothered to get them dressed.

With ds it was actually very early, simply because he was in cloth nappies (motherease and tots bots which are both pretty bulky) and I wasn’t that inclined to buy special clothes to accomodate them (environmental fussiness)-so he wore a lot of soft pj type trousers and t shirts and dungarees. With the others, later, I think just because real nappies were more common and so most of the people who gave us baby clothes for them gave us stuff from cut4cloth or similar. Oh and I had an amazing week of winning vouchers from places like Born and Cut4Cloth just before dd1 was born. I kind of prefer babies in babygros but as long as they are in something soft I am not that bothered, I’d rather put mine in “real” clothes than buy stuff specially, but that is me.

I love sleepsuits and would say to keep them as long as possible as they’re just comfy and cute. smile

We tried EC with our youngest so had him in soft separates but still mostly pjs or tops and jog bottoms.

Whatever feels easiest and most comfortable for you both is best. smile
