DD has a bit of a rash on her shoulders, tummy and back.  It’s like tiny pinprick spots which gives her skin a scaly appearance.  We’ve been to the GP’s numerous time and they say either it’s viral and it will go away by itself, or that it’s eczema, but it looks nothing like eczema to me.  It’s not itchy or red most of the time but will occaisionally flare up.  The best way I can describe it is like a heat rash but without the heat (been 5 degrees up here today, brrrrr)!

It doesn’t bother DD in the slightest and she’s completely well in every other sense, eating, drinking, being cheeky, the usual.  The GP has given us a steriod cream to use and if it doesn’t clear up to go back in 2 weeks.  I would really love to know if anyone has experienced similar so I can at least go back to the GP with some sensible suggestions, and so I can work out a nice natural way to clear it up.

She doesn’t have any allergies that we know of apart from mild hay fever.

Open to suggestions.  Thanks in advance.

Could it be a reaction to your washing powder (if you use one of course!).  Even if you have been using the same one all her life the ingredients are changed sometimes.

Could try aloe vera on the effected skin.

My kids get this and it flares up and goes away.  MiL is a GP.  She said if it doesn’t bother them, not to worry.  It does clear up.  Its a form of contact dermatitis, but as we use virtually no commercially produced chemicals, I’m not sure what causes it.  Someone suggested that heat rash can be caused by the dry-ness you get with central heating

Thanks everyone, we have been using a different bubble bath but I didn’t give it a thought as it was a ‘natural’ one, but we’ll stop using it for a while and see what happens.  Thanks again smile

Sometimes things in the natural ones, even if they are fully natural, can irritate different people! I once used a Toms of Maine deodorant that made my armpits peel! Ouch!
