I’ve been boiling water for my little one to drink since he was 6 months old. Wondering when you stopped boiling it first and just gave them straight from the tap?

With dd1 I stopped at a year, with dd2 I con’t remember but it was definitely by 8 months and I haven’t ever boiled it with dd3 as she only had drinking water from about 7-8 months - before that I offered her a bf if she seemed hungry or thirsty. It’s probably recommended to boil it somewhere, but they all seem fine without, and its one less thing to do too smile

goodness i don’t think I ever did this. Just straight from the tap. Don’t think any of mine would have had water before about 6 months though.

Straight from the tap here - offered from 6 months, but in an open glass, so none got in until about 9/10 months. Both my girls have drunk the bath water since birth though with no ill effects!

With Ru, I was bottle feeding, so we used cooled boiled water for his bottles, so it was boiled anyway.

With Pixie, she has water in a cup occasionally, but I’ve never boiled it first. I just am not worried about our drinking water being safe to drink for her. It has just never crossed my mind.

I don’t think boiling drinking water is required.
It’s just water for formula preparation needs to be hot when it’s used, to kill bacteria in the powder

NEVER! My LO’s drank our spring water (i.e. live water) from about 6 months and they have the constitution of oxen - they NEVER vomit. The eldest also had raw goat’s milk and she is the healthiest child you ever met - I’ve come to the conclusion that a little bacteria does you good wink

I think there was advice around to do this, not sure why, at some point in the last ten years.  I personally never bothered.
