Please, I need some ideas.  DD has had a long standing issue with shoes.  Over the winter she got by with wellies, but she’s grown out of those, and we got her some trainers to try to get her used to shoe like things, as she is due to start school in September.  We were doing ok, until Friday, and she has refused to wear shoes or socks since then.  However, this has now progressed to clothes.  I cannot get her to wear any.  Even bribery won’t work (yes, I’m that desperate). I need to go out and get some food, she wants to go to the shops, but won’t wear any clothes. How do I deal with this?  Getting cross doesn’t do anything, being silly about it doesn’t work, I am at a loss. I have to pick the boys up from school in 2 hours, i despair!

How old is she?
Could you convince her to dress up as something? Wear a pillowcase cut out into a dress and painted perhaps?

She literally won’t consider anything!  She says she’s scared possibly because I’ve got angry.  I can’t even get a pair of pants on her.  I’m absolutely at my wits end.  She’s 3.5 years by the way.

Managed to get a pair of pants on her after an hour and a half of cajoling, screaming, pleading and bribing.  Covered her with a play silk and she was asleep (exhausted) within seconds.  Not liking this phase :(

Aw…ds is 3 and 5 months and he has gone about naked today…not purposefully but…we went to the beach and he got wet so he stripped off, then went about the afternoon, to grandma’s and out and about naked, I know there are different thoughts about this and you may not feel okay about it but perhaps if your DD feels that its ok to go about naked, getting dressed wont be such a trauma for her -or you. Oh, and he didn’t have shoes on for part of it, and yes, we had to watch for glass etc but he learnt that he had to look where he was going too, which he found fascinating (all the things on the floor!). I’m amazed at the terrains DS can walk over without it hurting his feet, they are just so soft and pliable and mold to whatever surface he is walking on, pebbles, rocks and all…I’m keen for him to stay barefoot as long as possible as it really hurts me to walk across the pebbles barefoot! Sending you hugs to get through this phase x x
