Here I am again, lacking daily inspiration after another uncomfortable pregnant nights sleep! We’d usually go to a play group this morning but I’ve just been told that she finds it ‘boring, and ‘doesn’t fancy it today’. It is a little bit young for my daughters needs. So in amongst the things I need to do like washing and shopping, can you help to inspire me to get my creative on?

Chalking on the pavement/patio
Hopscotch
Is it hot enough for paddling pool/water splashing where you are?
Pop her in the bath wink
Stickers/cutting bits of stuff and gluing onto anything! (might need to watch this one tho!)
Simple baking-jam tarts, buns, biscuits
washing dolls/toys
do some drawing together (we like drawing outlines of people then swapping and filling in each others)

That’s me out of ideas grin We’re off to watch the olympic torch and Daddy’s off work so super excited here eek!!!!

Hope you have a lovely day together whatever you get up to xx

Love the tin foil river idea, I think my boys would have fun with that too.

How about a treasure hunt around the house or garden.  You could sit down with your feet up and do ‘hotter’ ‘colder’ until she finds the treasure.

Always a fan of chalk on the patio or cup of water for ‘painting’ the patio when I’m tired also a bowl of water and bubbles to wash the garden stuff whether it is a wendy house slide or plant pots.

Dolls also needs a bath, washing their clothes too and then a mini washing line smile

A bath will kill quite alot of time, do you have bath crayons or some toys/stuff from around the house that doesn’t normally go in the bath?

Playdough, adding essential oils especially lavender is gorgeous when played with.

Good luck x
And if all else fails some tv, a dvd with popcorn and dimmed lights, bung loads of cushions on the floor and put your feet up.  Or a game on the laptop, angry birds is popular here smile

My boys love playing the clothes peg hunt. They then go around the garden clipping the pegs to all of the plants.

I love you all!! Thank you so much. We did finally manage to get to playgroup which was less drama than I anticipated. Now home and we’re about to get creative! Though I think I’m going to set something up for inspiration then let her mind run away with it while I have a cup of chamomile as I am exhausted and there’s still washing to be done!

Glad you managed to get to playgroup anyway!  For future reference, my daughter—who is just a bit older than yours, I think—has been loving the paddle pool and a spray bottle and a bucket of sand.  We don’t have an actual sandbox for her, but she carts around this sand in a basin or a bucket and seems to derive endless amusement from just that and the spray bottle.  She also brings her little plastic animals out to give them baths in the paddle pool—I managed to have 40 minutes of just sitting and relaxing on the garden bench today while she bathed her animals.  Bubbles and soapy water for washing things (as suggested by Sarie) are also popular choices right now.

Got to second water painting on the patio, chalk hopscotch and giving them water to wash their toys - excellent for absorbing little minds!

We have recently painted bubble wrap at DS’s request - kept them going for at least 45 mins!

Glad your day improved smile

My daughters love to play in dens. If I help them build a den, set up a pretend picnic and play for 5 mins I can usually slip away for 30 mins peace grin I use a clothes horse, our play silks and lots and lots of pegs but a sheet over a table works just as well.
