It’s very very wet here (what’s new!  smile )  we were going to go on an organised bug hunt at a lovely little mill nearby but given the weather we have opted instead to go to Loch of the Lowes to see how the osprey chick there has progressed since we saw it a few months back. It a good comprimise of nature and indoors and outdoors!

What’s everyone elses plans?

ps Nature dectectives have loads of great online resources that can be printed off for wet indoor days and also things to do online. We love it.

Benedict is at tennis and one of our older girls has offered to take Pip to the park, so I might just manage to make lunch in peace!  The sun is actually shining at this end, so the washing can finally be hung on the line.  Hubby might manage some time in the workshop on the lathe and I might even manage to get some much needed sewing done… well I can live in hope!

Hope wherever you are and whatever you are doing you all have a lovely day.

The mini skeins of alpaca sock yarn which I dyed for toy knitting are finally dry, so I’m going to start Talia’s birthday Intrepid Fox.  smile  If I get a moment.

Tali was up at 5am today (and didn’t go to sleep til nearly midnight) so I feel like I’m running on empty a bit.  Jenna has gone off with a friend to see a musical and sleep over so I won’t see her til tomorrow night.  Rowan and Morgan are back to bickering *again*, and “go and play outside” has failed so the next plan is to feed them and then give them some cutting out.  Trashes the living room but keeps them seated and apart from each other for half an hour.  If I get the tiny bits of paper picked up by the time Martin comes home, it will be an exceptional day (I’m better it will still be a mess).  He left the house at 8am and will get back just before 8pm again!

Knitting, keeping the middle two from hurting each other, and feeding the baby.  That’s my plan for today.  There are so many exciting things I’d like to be doing, but I’m too tired and/or broke.  wink

We have warmth and dryness here for a change, I would not go so far as saying the sun is shining.  We are drying out from camping this week and enjoying some quiet time at home.  Just said goodbye to a friend has been staying with us for the week, lives overseas so we do not catch up that often.

We have just got home, took Len to the opticians this morning (woo! She doesn’t need glasses!), went round the charity shops and found a rainbow coloured screen for the back door, a waterproof for Miri for £3, a gorgeous dress for Len and a top for Fliss that she is very pleased with.  Then we had lunch at a new deli that has just opened, which was delicious…sandwiches on their home made olive bread.

Tis lovely and sunny, we are just having a cuppa then I am going to garden.

We have had beautiful weather today, that is up until now when the heavens opened and now it is really very wet. The village quickly recovered from the flooding yesterday and the weather stayed nice for the local schools summer fete’s.

Dh is working 10 hours today, so not as bad as his usual minimum of 12 hours. I am feeling terrible after having my last wisdom tooth out at during the week and just can’t get the pain to go away so feeling a bit :( So the boys are watching television just to give me a break.

Filthy here today - the lanes are more like streams, and there’s a lot of localised flooding which made for an interesting welly walk earlier today with the childer. A birthday party this afternoon with both children; VERY LOUD and a lot of plastic and sugar, which wasn’t my ideal way to spend the afternoon, but DD1 really enjoyed herself and DD2 had a nice big space to walk about in while attached to various willing adults, so that bit was successful anyway.

Now girding my loins for dinner-related chaos while attempting to lever DD2 off the leg of my pyjamas. :o)

Ah a nice sunny dry here today, was my mum’s birthday and she wanted to go on a train down the valley line, so James had his first trip on a train, and loved it! Didn’t stop long there at the other end though. The line followed the river so we were able to see how full it was, parts had flooded but not as bad as I expected, hope its been a better day for everyone weather wise. James fell asleep on the way home, now he and daddy are dancing on the wii, about to go in the bath with his new bath crayons. DH is off for four days now woohoo! About to check out campsites on Anglesey with the hope of fitting in a night or two, fingers crossed. x x

Ooh! It was my mum’s birthday yesterday and today we spent the day at mum and dad’s house having a bbq with them, my sister, brother in law, 15yr old nephew. We all had a great time. Weather stayed warm, sunny and dry too. X

up lots of the night with dodgy tummy (mine).  My lovely parents have taken kids, so I’ve spent the day on the sofa dozing / listening to the radio and unwinding the big bag of tangled up wool that the kids created several months ago.  At least I feel well enough to sit upright now and come online.

Hope everyone was able to carry out their plans and I am glad to hear some people had sun. We have kind of forgotten what it looks like here but hey ho on the upside everything is looking lush and green!
