We are thinking of getting a couple of indian runner ducks.
We have a reasonable sized, quite overgrown garden, with a pond.
I was wondering what we need to consider and provide before we make a definate decision.
I think the pond is big enough but needs to have some repairs done too it, it is deep and overhung by a plum tree, if the bottom gets disturbed it can smell quite bad although there are goldfish living in it and it has a water pump aerating it. Do you think this would be a health risk?
Are there any plants we should remove from the garden that may be poisious to ducks? What sort of shelter should we provide and how much does it cost to keep ducks (we thought 2 females to start - is that ok?) What illnesses are they at risk of?
