I don’t really think I have made anything for ages and really should be finishing the tea cosy that I planned to give a friend last year for Christmas, ooops.

So I was just wondering what everyone else was up to in the making department.

Salt dough! Its fun cheap and easy and if a small child helps to paint them, they are gift worthy! Yule this year for us is going to be one oxfam unwrapped gift bought and then close family and friends will get a handmade gift from a 3 year old. Time and funds are low x

If I can figure out threading my sewing machine (!) I am making a pencil roll for my husband, then I was thinking of maybe making Hannukah bunting (yes, I need lots of lead-in time!) and then some flongies for Jude.

I have just started to give christmas some thoughts too.  I am going to make bedtime bags for each of my children with a book in each.  I thought I would knit some of those one ball scarfs for family and friends and maybe knit some flowers to adorn hair slides and/or brooches.  That is the extent of my thinking at the mo!

At the moment however, I have just made a bedtime bag for a friends daughter who has a birthday next week.  I am knitting my youngest a cardigan and I have some yarn to knit a hat and a jacket for myself.

Haha umm, I am knitting a cabled vest commission (blue hand dye), a silk alpaca leaf shawl for me (golden yellow), a huge purple shawl commission (nearly nearly done!) and I’m about to start a fairisle fox toy.  smile  I have some silks and fibres in the post to dye for my shop, and some soft alpaca to make a newborn top for a family with wool allergies.  And an exciting idea for rainbow sunprinted clothes…  *squeak*

Erm, do you really want to know?

A crocheted top for me (very slow as it is for me, and is using a 2.5mm hook)
Spinning wool for a cushion for the Guild competition at Christmas, hopefully will get to start knitting with it soon!
Some amigurami star wars figures for Ds2 for his birthday
Just prepping some wool ready to start spinning for a couple of commissioned iPad covers
Various needle felted things as and when the whim takes me!  Made a tooth fairy pot the other night!
Got various bunting designs going around my head, and waiting for a working sewing machine to finish one lot that I was half way through making when my sewing machine decided it wasn’t happy!

I can’t believe you are all thinking about Christmas, I am so slow that I really think I need to get a move on. I love the idea of bed time book bags. I want to knit the boys hot water bottle covers too.

Sarah, you sound a bit excited wink I would love to know about the rainbow sun dyed material.

I have almost finished a present for a little friend who is about to turn ONE!
I have two crochet hoodies on the go for the pixies, a cardigan for myself that I just can’t figure out the pattern of, I am almost finished but the pattern doesn’t follow correctly :s

In theory I am still making a leap year blanket but am very behind.

I have just found out a new pattern for some crochet boottees as I realise we only have one week left at school and a teacher and one of the mums is due to give birth in the holidays so going to try to get them done over the weekend.

I have been thinking about Yule and have some patterns ready to go and some pressies already put away smile
I love hearing what everyone is making

I found sunprinting dyes for cotton and silk, and it looks from wandering around online that nobody else does ready-made sunprint clothes or playsilks.  I really really want them to turn out well, because I have a feeling they might be popular if they look like I’m imagining.  They should be in my shop in a couple of weeks if the samples go well.  I’m literally dancing at the thought of rainbow botanical prints on organic baby clothes!!  (Crazy, but hey!)

Sunprint dyes aren’t very expensive, or at least, not more than normal fabric dyes.  I’ll let you know how it goes, because regular sunprinting is fun and has such exciting unique results.  smile  Eep!  (See, still squeaking…)  Wish those silks would hurry up, they should come today…

In other news, I went wrong with the cable and have to frog back.  :S

You all sound so creative!!  I’m making monogrammed drawstrings bags for some new born babies.  (or they are not so new born yet as i am very slow in getting these things finished). And when i say monogrammed it’s just the letter of their first name in a different colour scrap fabric.  I find it’s good present as the parents can use it as a nappy bag and then later to put toys in it.  But for some reason it takes me days and days to finish them. Christmas, nope such thoughts yet. I am only just planning what we should do this summer… can’t plan both at the same time.

The bedtime bag I have made has a pocket for a book on the front and the main bag is for pajamas so they can be found easily lol, but you could use them for whatever you want!

I’m in a bit of a lull too, just finished upcycling a pair of DP’s jeans into carrier bag dispensers and a herbal sleep cushion for my Mum. Next up might be oven gloves, or patchwork skirt for myself. And there’s a couple of small projects, like making an old tote bag into a cushion cover, which will be nice and quick. And my mammoth Day of the Dead cross stitch which is ongoing…

Love seeing what everyone else is up to!
