I have been for weeks now- my ankles and fingers in particular. I can’t get any rings on and when I wake up in the morning my fingers are so painful on the joints and I have pins and needles every morning. Ankle swelling is better in the morning but hands are very painful. No protein in urine, blood pressure always fine, had 2 blood tests for pre eclampsia and both came back fine. What can I do! Its so painful x

Cold cloths and gentle massage?  (hugs)  I’m glad your midwife isn’t concerned, but if it worsens do go get checked again.  smile  xxx

I have never had this so have zero suggestions but I just wanted to say it sounds horrible like arthritic pain even, I hope someone here can suggest something.  Love and hugs to you xox

PS)  I know that this time around I have less aches and pains (on the whole, although it’s easy to forget) and I am sure my big doses of fish and krill oil help with joint stuff.

Are you having muscle pain in your lower abdomen?  I am having it so bad, it’s like I did a tonne of exercise, or something, at either side, as low as my belly goes…. it *is* sort of on my scar area but as soon as I rest and lie down it goes away so I figure it must be muscular.  I feel like I am spending half my days lying down!!!!

Claire - I had this from about 20 weeks, it was agony. But yes, if I lay down for a while it faded. Sometimes it felt as if someone was literally pulling me in half from my groin to my mid tum but along my sides? Particularly bad if I did anything strenuous. By strenuous I mean walk bend, pick up a doll, anything really beyond slow wombling around…..

Gem - I did get swollen fingers and toes the last few weeks but they weren’t painful. More uncomfortable as they felt really fat and awkward, like I couldn’t close my hands or grip tightly. Yours sounds really bad though, I wish I had some advice beyond applying heat maybe?
