Hi, my name is Mariana.

I live in Essex with my boyfriend and our one year old son.

I try to live as “green” as possible (using real nappies, cutting down on waste etc) but feel that I should do more. I have just started to grow some veg and hope to grow a lot more next year. I love spending time with my family and friends but find I don’t have much spare time at the moment as I am working full time and studying.

Would love tips on dealing with my son’s eczema as naturally as possible and any recipes other mums have (my son is allergic to egg, dairy, nuts and sesame seeds!).

xx

My 3 year old niece has the same set of allergies as your son and I know my sister found it difficult at first to come up with ideas.  She found a great recipe book written by someone who had a severely allergic child.  She made some delicious food from it.  My sister vene made a yummy chocolate style cake for my daughter’s birthday - seriously scrumptious.  I’ll ask her for some information and get back to you (please chase me if I don’t).

Hope you enjoy hunting around on the forum.  there are some pretty interesting threads about eczema treatment too.

Thanks, that would be great (see if you can get the cake recipe!). For George’s birthday I got a non egg, non dairy etc cake made but it was expensive so don’t think I’ll be doing that very often. It was easy at first to cook for him as I just wizzed up for veggies but now he wants big boy food and I am running out of ideas.

I did read a tip on here about putting oats in a sock and putting it under the tap when running the bath. I’m going to try that.

Hi Jacqui

Thanks!

Have never joined anything like this before so not sure how everything works etc. What are all the abbreviations?? Is “DD” dear daughter and “DS” dear son?

Hi Arna, yes you are right about the abbreviations - DH is dear husband (or darn husband if he is in the bad books lol) - OH is other half.

Hi Anna, welcome to the forum smile  Whereabouts in Devon are you from? I live near Torquay with my husband and 5 children.

I look forward to chatting with you both.

Maybe I should do a quick intro as I’m a “new member”?
So I used to be here, clocked up a couple of thousand posts over 3 years, made some wonderful friends, got a bit bogged down with things in general and escaped from the online world for a while. Missed this place so much I came back renewed and hoping to catch up with everyone again.
I live in the NW of England, with an amazing DH, 2 of our grown children (20 & 16), our 3 younger children (6, 5 & 2.5), 1 nutty dog, 1 self obsessed cat and 2 noisy hamsters. Or are they gerbils? I can’t remember the differences…..
In the summer we spend of most of our time at our little home in Mid Wales where we hope to relocate one day, but somewhere a bit more spacious lol.
I try to be a good green mama, sometimes it’s much harder than other times, I’m a long time veggie, sometimes vegan, organic, local produce loving cook. I like to knit (well), crochet (averagely) and sew (badly). And I LOVE being a mama.
Oh and I’m a Grandma too, to one 5 year old girl.

xx
