Hi smile

I'm Sahar, mum to 7 precious people.

I'm in Leicester and am a WAHM.

I home-ed, used to breast-feed, baby wear, cloth nappy and co sleep when the children were younger (still co sleeping with youngest).

I love this forum even though I don't post much smile

I've just realised I haven't introduced myself here! I'm Claire, I'm 25 and I'm currently on maternity leave with Finn, who is 6 months old. My elder daughter, Chloe, is 7. I was a single parent until Chloe was 4, then I met Phil and we got married 18 months ago. We're trying to be greener - with the help of this forum! We co-sleep (which I found much easier as a single mum, lol!), breastfeed and love slings (although Finn's *huge* so it's getting harder!), we recycle, we're improving at growing our own veg and we spend our weekends walking on Dartmoor or at the beach. Oh and I love this forum - it makes me feel sane!

Hello!  Another Rachel here.  I'm a Welsh mam, currently 24 weeks pregnant with baby boy #2 and my first son is now 17 months old.  I'm 27 years old and my other half is 29 and we've been together for almost 12 years now.  Over the past 3 years we've been slowly turning to organic and green/eco-living…and it all started when we decided to start a family.

My son is a cloth bum and he spent his first 6 months of life attached to me in a sling…only actually stopped using the sling when I was 2 months pregnant coz he's a big lump and my bump appeared quite quickly (another big baby on the way me thinks!).  He was breastfed until he was 14 months old and I was 2 months pregnant…which is probably why he lost interest in booby milk seeing as he still loves his organic cows milk!  We partly co-slept, he'd start off in his cot and if he woke up then he'd come in with us…but he always slept through the night for the first 6 months, then the teething began!  I intend to do the same again with this baby…not sure how I'll manage the breastfeeding with an active toddler destroying the house though!

I love going out for family walks and do lots of cooking.  We're new to growing our own veg, only started that on a small scale this year but hope to do more this coming year.

Thinking of becoming a SAHM after this little one is born but I'm not sure how we'd cope with less money coming in.

Hi everyone,

This will be the first time I've ever posted on a forum- finally getting getting around to it after dropping in now and then for quite a while.
I'm Siobhan, 31, married to a Canadian, Steve, 36 and we have a 21 month old boy with the second due around the end of this month. I'm from Scotland but we now live in Maritime Canada. I have always tried to live as simply as I can and to be as green as I can with varying degrees of success but starting a family and wanting to set a good example for our wee ones has been a real motivator. Our main efforts just now include growing our own veggies (when the snow isn't a few feet deep), making lots of jarred goodies with local produce, trying not to use the car too much (hard to do in Canada) and refusing to buy any new plastic junk that is all over the place. Our parenting style is very gentle and we just love spending time with each other. Our major vice is our love of overseas backpacking which means we fly every year :( It would be hard to give it up or deny my children the chance to benefit from it as I have. It's an ongoing debate with us…

I'm a geography teacher but don't plan to go back to that for a good few years- if at all. Staying at home with my children is really important to me and I have a wonderfully supportive husband but I just wish there were more stay at home parents in my area.

That's me for now. Nice to read more about all of you.

Hi all!
I am very very new to the green parent forum!  I'm 26 and live in Wales.  I live with my partner and we have a 5 yr old son.  We don't home ed but I was HE myself.  I work part time but dream of having my own business!

I am a big fan of green things generally…which not many people I know are, unfortunatly.  :(  At the moment i am trying to prepare for a 'non-consumerist' Christmas by making home-made presents!

Look forward to chatting to some like-minded people on here  smile

Hi All

I'm Zoe, from Cornwall.  My partner and I are expecting my fourth, his second, little darling in March.  I had a CS last time, so hoping for a successful VBAC this time.  I've breastfed all my babies and always used real nappies (most of which are now over 20 years old and still going strong!)

I'm now a BF peer supporter and try to reuse and recycle as much as possible.  Would love to be totally self sufficient, but its not possible at the moment.

Won't get on here much to post, but will drop in as much as I can.

Hi Kate

Unless you are planning to become an active member of the forum, this post would probably prevent anyone from using you!

Maybe GP needs to start charging businesses for posts on the forum!
