I know what you mean, my new baby is due in february, so I have already started preparing all the clothes, toys (these felted toys are for her) and other little fings.
When you have a bit more time give it a go, felting is really nice:)

Ruta- that’s beautiful! I’ve always been afraid of felting, but am feeling the urge coming on to give it a go.
My youngest is 7 weeks, so my time is thin these days. Plus we’re having a diaper crisis. Well, I am anyway. She’s a sleeper! And the system I had for DS when he was a newborn isn’t cutting it. So I’m in diaper making mode. Then I need to finish a sensory quilt (that I started for DS 2 years ago ) so she can have a clean place for some tummy time. After that, who knows!!!
I mostly sew things to sell, but in autumn I seem to get an urge to knit, so I have two projects on the go at the moment - a sleeveless sweater in a yarn that knits up into a fairisle-like pattern (terrible cheat, I know) and a plain sweater in a lovely dark teal coloured merino yarn - both for T. He’s five, so I’m knitting the age seven sizes, knowing from past experience to allow a good bit of making time! I’ve also started a needlepoint cushion front, something I haven’t done for years.
Returned to add pictures of the knitted dolls as promised, taking a break from making more now as onto another knitting project in between felting, will share the knitting project soon-ish hopefully (if I don’t get too distracted ).
(bigger pics on the blog)
Just about to make my 10 yr old son a needle book, so happy he likes sewing as much as I do and so does my middle child They have been creating felt hairclips today
I am making my daughters a tapestry cushion each, that has their initial on. I found some great circus lettering patterns on Felicity Hall’s website which I hope will look great on a cushion.
I’m knitting DH a jumper. I’ve had to unpick an entire one I made last year which was totally huge and reusing the wool. This is a boys pattern that says use DK, so I’m using Chunky and so far it looks like it will create a mans jumper. I’ve never made him any clothes (other than fancy dress) so was feeling a bit guilty.
Plans Dining Room curtains (bought the fabric before DD was born!)
Clothes for me
Clothes for DD who is tall and skinny and all trousers fall off her little, potty trained bottom
to one day do an upholstery coarse so I can enjoy second hand furniture that actually looks nice
I’m making gentle stuff atm. I have a big stack of dream-projects but they have to get in line behind homeschooling, music stuff, getting the allotment off the ground this spring, and finishing this bleeping gardening course
Also I really want to make some funky egg cosies as the kids’ easter present (I am going to put something like a cadbury’s creme egg inside, which is a rare rare treat)
I have a big stack of clothkits stuff I need to sew up (got all cheap as seconds), but I have absolutely no idea when i am going to get a chance to do it
All the babies in our group are about to have their 1st birthdays (time flies)! So I’m making a selection of dresses and trousers from my ‘Simple Sewing for Babies’ book by Lotta Jansdotter http://www.jansdotter.com/ledger.
So cute having a table littered with tiny clothes - just hope I get them all finished in time! x
I am knitting finger puppets at the moment. I also hope to make a doll for my youngest’s birthday in may will start it now in the hope it will be finished by then!
Surely you don’t really want to know ALL the things that I am working on at the moment?
There’s three lots of bunting, two story bags (knitted characters in a bag with a pocket to hold the story book), a crocheted jacket in size 10 crochet yarn which will take forever to complete! Oh, a project that is to fit in a 6 inch ring for the Guild challenge. A black angry bird for DH and a crocheted creeper from minecraft or Ds3. oh plus I have been asked to make a knitted bag for a friend with homesin wool! Think that is it!!
Better try and get most of it done before the sowing season is upon us otherwise the house will be completely neglected!!
