Someone has given ds2 some preschool sessions that they won in a raffle; 5 I think.  Their LO is 4 and gets a funded place so they have offered them to me.  What should I do?  Should I let him go?  I am worried that he might really like it and want to go to school (not really in my plans) and I’m also worried about how they will deal with him as he is very,... hmmm singular is probably the best word.  He will only let you deal with him in a left way first of all.  Left sock, then right, left shoe then right, left arm in coat first etc.  He gets very cross if you accidentally do it wrong.  He’s also not afraid to challenge adult authority and regularly speaks to me like I’m some kind of jibbering idiot (well aren’t all adults?!)  Will he cope?  Will they cope?  Will it scar him for life? Has anyone else sent theirs to preschool and then HEed?  Lots more Q’s ; I’m feeling very inquisitive tonight obviously.

How bizarre to give away 5 preschool sessions!!  As if anyone would send their child for 5 sessions, how unsettling?!  Sorry I find this utterly confusing….  Unless you are planning for him to go to this preschool or thinking of it I can’t see why or how it would be of any benefit to anyone?

Good point about it being unsettling.  Never thought of that.  TBH I saw it as a way to have a break from a very full on little boy, and maybe get some of the housework done that’s been building up for the last 8 months since ds3 was born.  Thank you.

Oh well, if it’s to get housework done then ditch them!  LOL

Maybe your son is different, but for mine it would have been very unsettling as it always took them a few months to settle in anywhere.  They’ve never been the kind of children I could just drop off anywhere… and if I’d tried just dropping them off at a new place with strangers one day then they would have been screaming blue murder the entire time. hmmm

In fact I did put DS1 in a leisure centre creche once as friends said staff were wonderful and caring, needless to say it was a horrendous experience for both of us and never repeated!
