Hi, I would really like to get to know other try-to-be-green (not always successful but try very hard), stay at home mums whose children and family come first in their lives who live in Nottinghamshire.  I can’t be the only one…...xxx

Hi to both of you grin We’re in Lincolnshire and can travel too! Whereabouts are you both? We’re in Sleaford and often go to Newark if that helps. Nice to hear of some (fairly) locally as I too often feel like I’m the only one round here, clearly not as there’s you both! Feeling much better lol

Hi!

I know what you mean about feeling like the only one in your local area!  I’ve been to local baby and toddler groups but get totally fed up with the competitive parenting and the “when are you going back to work” speak.  “My family is my work and a total pleasure” is usually my answer and then they look at me fairly oddly like I’ve sprouted wings or something!

I also can’t seem to find other mums in the area who are interested in things like cloth nappies, baby carrying etc.

I often go to Newark - I’m from Mansfield way so it makes a nice trip out and I love the town anyway with the river etc.

Wow! I’ve been lurking (I’m sure that word has negative connotations) on the GP forum for a few months and have looked to see if there were any Nottinghamshire Mums but didn’t see any then I saw this post and decided I just had to join the forum and come out of lurkdom - I’m in Nottinghamshire and would love to get to know some like-minded local Mums.

Anyway, I’m Naomi and I have 2 children, Tristan (27 months) and Eloise (8 months). smile

HC - I am about 15 mins from you heading towards Lincoln, I’m in Nocton, we are always in Sleaford as Katie has her dance lessons at Go Dance twice a week .. lol
if you fancy a play at the park, let me know.

it would be lovely to have a regular get together, I know we are spread out but maybe once a month, at different locations to make it easier for people to get to.
what do you all think ?

I think it would be great to spend Sunday afternoons together through the summer ... infact jumping right in with ....

next Sunday in Nottingham is the Green festival .. details here

http://www.leftlion.co.uk/listings.cfm/id/29920

we go every year ( rain or shine ) and love it .. we dance alittle, play alot, laugh, always bring a picnic but end up eating the lovely food available there too.
its not too big and very family friendly

so, who’s up for it ?? we’d have to really be organised to meet up with each other, or I can bring a big flag and put it up next to us.

Wow!  I never thought I would get a reply!!!!  It’s so nice to know I’m not odd!!!! LOL

A get together would be fantastic. I’m not able to make next Sunday, but since it is half term next week, wondered if any of you were at a loose end and would like to meet up somewhere.  How far from each of you is somewhere like Rufford Country Park (just thinking of somewhere equidistant from Derby and Lincolnshire….other suggestions would be great though.  Can’t do Friday but free Tues, Wed and Thurs

mama4, sounds good to me too. I’ll have a word with DF and see if he fancies it, we’re reliant on public transport so will have to find out if there are busses.

mummaroon, thank you and I’m glad I joined now! smile
