When is good for people in Oct? How about the 7Th/ 14th or 21st? They are all Wednesdays. And how about if we go to Sherwood Pines? Or Clumber, although have to confess i don’t actually know whats there cos i’ve never been! red face

Also following on from eco fest wondered if any one fancied meeting up at Markeaton park sometime ( I understand if its a bit far for some people!)
Weekdays prob best but could maybe do a weekend at a push!

21st is best with us, happy with Rufford or Clumber Park - have either got a more sheltered area as it’ll be getting colder / wetter for picnics.?

Any of those dates are fine for us, gosh 21st Oct -that’s scary! I can’t think if of anywhere sheltered at either. We’ll have to take big umbrellas!

21st October is good for us too!  Will be lovely to catch up with everyone.  The only other suggestion I have is somewhere like an indoor play area such as Monkey Mania at Ollerton as I can’t think of any shelter at either Rufford or Clumber or Sherwood Pines.  What do you all think?

I am not sure when I can make it as we are having our bathroom done and not sure how the timings work. So, go ahead, 21st sounds as good as any, and we will be there is we possibly can.

Charlotte, it would be lovely to meet up at Markeaton sometime. Thursdays are good for us as my neighbour takes our dog out so I am free to do other things! The next Thursday we can do tho is 15th Oct ...

21st good for us too. Am pretty sure that there is no covered areas at Rufford (other than the ‘bandstand’ affair in the main play park) and at Clumber it would be sheltering under a tree!
Having said that I have been to Rufford all through the winter and just had picnics on benches rather than sitting on ground- they do have a few bench arrangements around the lake where there are benches grouped together-  some around tables and some without. The cafeteria is not too ruinous for a treat ( or wasn’t last time I went in there)

Shall we say the 21 st then?!

I personally am happy to brave elements etc at Rufford with a picnic ( and backup plan of cafe if the weathers really poo!) but if everyone else would rather do an inside job i’m happy to do that !

Sundog a Thurs is good for me at Markeaton but can’t do 15th as its harvest festival at school , can do 22nd or then 5th Nov onwards? Any more for the park?

Hi!

I know some of you are meeting at Markeaton Park on Thursday but I just wondered who was meeting at Rufford on Wednesday.  We can’t do Thursday but are planning on Rufford but don’t want to go if no-one else is!

Take care

I think its looking unlikely that we will be able to be there on Wednesday, as suspected, but still planning on Markeaton on Thursday, all being well (bathroom permitting - we are still waiting for a definite start date ... had hoped it would have been nearly finished by now but no rush. It just means it is hard to make plans). Looking forward to talking hens with Charlotte - we got ours finally yesterday and had our first egg today so are very excited!

Nina, you are very welcome .. it will be nice to meet you.

Did we say a time for Thurs? 10? 10:30? Depends whether we want to make it a picnic lunch date or just a stroll and a play. What suits you?
