Hello!

I realise there was a thread started about a meet previously but I think its got a bit lost and forgotten about now.

Would people still be interested in meeting up?

DS and I in Stirling and could meet locally or would venture to Edinburgh/Glasgow etc happily on the train.

Doesn’t need to be piles of folk would just be nice to meet a few new faces.

I live in Edinburgh and am new to the area. I don’t jump at these meets just because my boys are older and my girlie is in school in teh afternoons so it’s hard to juggle. Do any of you have older children? My boys are 9 and nearly 7 and my daughter is 4. I don’t have babies or toddlers anymore - but I’d still like to make some friends lol!!

Hi Emme - I would be ok with a Stirling meet - I think most of the Mamas are nearer that area, but i am quite central to most places, so Glasgow or Edinburgh is fine too.

Arwen, I do have older children - 29, 19, and 17 as well as my lovely 2 year old, so sadly we don’t have a match.  I am failry sure, though that there is a home ed meet at the Botanics which is aimed at older children.  Have you joined the Scottish He yahoo group?

You could link up with parents nearby there.  Where about in Edinburgh are you?  I live a 20 minute train ride away and can always pop in for a cofee one day if you like

Thats great Arwen, but there must be another one - either a Tuesday or Friday that was going on a while ago - maybe it had disbanded and you have re-started it then.  Hope it goes well for you. xx

I’d love to meet up smile We are in Ayrshire, so Glasgow is closest for us, but if everyone else goes with what suits them then we can hopefully try and come too.

Oh and Oakley is almost 8 months smile

Ok, from these replies it would seem that Glasgow would be the easiest option? Correct me if I’m wrong smile Couple of questions. 1) What would people like to do? and 2) What date and time (morning/afternoon) suits?

I always think its best to plan these things plenty of time in advance so could I suggest sometime in mid/late June or early July. Lachlan and I are mostly free Wed/Thurs/Fri and could be in Glasgow comfortably from 11am onwards.

Lets get this sorted!

Probably up for it too - haven#t gone anywhere by myself with both dd and new ds yet, so, let’s keep that as a probably.  Glasgow or stirling or edinburgh fine with me too.

I can be in Glasgow for 11 ish - any day but Thursdays are good for us. Late June early July is also fine.  Trying to think what to do in Glasgow that is not too far out.  Trains come into the centre of town, so a further journey would be needed to go to the transport museum or science centre for example. Will ponder. xx
Hope you and children are doing well Tanya xx

Thats a good point about a required further trip to get to anywhere of ‘interest’ in Glasgow, don’t suppose the LO’s would enjoy a shopping trip!

Edinburgh does have more opportunities closer to the train station like Dynamic Earth and the Story Telling Centre…

Anyone fancy being more decisive than me?

Would anyone in the Stirling vicinity fancy a park visit in the next couple of weeks?

King’s Park in Stirling with the great playground would be good sometime soon.  I too wondered where to go in Glasgow that didn’t involve too much travel, but I’m not a Glasgow expert so can’t really help with suggestions.

And me and the wee ones are doing great (however, dh is still off work, so he’s doing lots of the hard work so we’ll see how I cope in a week or so).

All gone a bit quiet again here!

Tanya - would you like to meet in Kings Park next week? Free Wed/Thurs/Fri as far as I know. Would any of them suit you? (and others if interested!) We usually go out in the mornings but as a small person has decided napping is for wimps flexible about the afternoons too.

Anyone had any ideas about a Glasgow venue or alternative central meet?

Hey there,

I’ve got a 5 and 4 year old and we’d love to come along to a local park gathering (we are Stirling-ers).  My daughter is at school but my son and I are free in the mornings. What about arranging a meet up when the Edinburgh festival starts - there’s usually loads on for kids, even in the Princess Gardens? The Edinburgh book festival is great for the kids too (?) There might be the annual Play in the Parks coming up too - good opportunity for picnics if the sun is out.

OK, anyone available for a Kings Park meet in the week beginning the 6th July? We can’t do Friday mornings but flexible about any other day. Would be nice to have a meet up before I pop smile
