1. Hair Care. Coconut oil is the best deep conditioning treatment available for your hair, penetrating deeper than any mineral oil. For best results, rub into unwashed hair and leave overnight.

2. Nipple Cream. Nursing mothers can safely apply coconut oil to soothe sore, dry or cracked nipples. It is also said to be very good for baby, too.

3. Shaving Oil. Shaving with coconut oil reduces irritation and the incidence of ingrown hairs.

4. Moisturiser. Coconut oil is very easily absorbed into the skin, making it a nourishing skin treatment that also has the added benefit of several anti-aging properties and SPF 4!

5. Soothes dry skin/eczema/burns. Applied to delicate skin, coconut oil is naturally soothing and helps to speed up the healing process of damage done through itching/burning.

6. Natural cold-sore remedy. The anti-viral properties of coconut oil help the body to fight the herpes simplex virus that is responsible for cold-sores.

7. Natural thrush remedy. Applied topically, the anti-fungal properties of coconut oil help to tackle thrush infections naturally and without the need for harsh, medicated treatments that can cause resistance over time. This works for nursing mothers and babies, too.

8. Teeth Whitening. When used alone, or as a natural home-made toothpaste when made with baking soda, coconut milk helps to whiten the teeth naturally and cleans the teeth as well as any chemical filled toothpaste. Adults can add a drop of peppermint oil to improve the taste of their home-made toothpaste solutions.

9. Natural deodorant. A mixture of coconut oil, baking soda, corn starch and essential oils makes the perfect non-toxic deodorant that is sure to keep you feeling fresh and your armpits nourished. Check out our favourite recipe here.
