Have you heard about Beauty Boxes? They’ve been around for a couple of years now and I’m only just discovering them. But basically, once per month for around £10 a little box of goodies will arrive to your door filled with products that you’ve never tried or heard of before. There are countless available to choose from, each offering something a little unique of their own. Choosing one will often be a case of determining what you’re looking to get out of it.

As a self-confessed beauty products addict, I’ve tried all of them and I’ve put together my top 5 to help you decide which one to pick. For the record, I am currently subscribed to 2… and I sweat over whether or not to resubscribe to others on an almost monthly basis. I just can’t pick!

1) Birchbox. If I absolutely had to pick one box, this is the one I would come back to time and time again. As a makeup fan, I’m looking for a mixture of products and I find the Birchbox ratio to be pretty much perfect. I am also impressed by the number of full size products and samples included. Always high end, always worth more than the money you are paying each month. The customer service is exceptional, deals and offers unbeatable and I am pleased every time my little parcel of goodies arrives with me. I have not been disappointed with any aspect of Birchbox yet.

2) Love Lula. Love, love, love this beauty box. I was so excited to discover that Love Lula were releasing a box and I absolutely had to try it. An all natural or organic beauty box is not to be missed, Green Parent readers. For a mere £12.50 per month you are getting several large or full sized samples of beauty products from brands that you might not otherwise have tried and you will always get a box with a value far beyond the subscription fee. This would be my favourite, if there were more makeup products included – but that is simply a personal preference.

3) GlossyBox. Glossybox and Birchbox are the two big names in the beauty box world, and whilst they are almost the same in terms of what they provide I find that Birchbox edges the Glossybox out ever so slightly with its focus on high end products. You will find far more full sized samples in the Glossybox, however you’re also more likely to find that these are drug store products or that the rest will be mainly drugstore if you get a large sized high end product. The value for money is excellent and the variety of brands and products make this well worth subscribing to.

4) You Beauty. Another box I really love. Almost all beauty products, which is why I don’t currently subscribe, you get a really great range that include a large number of natural and organic items too. I was never all that impressed with the member box, though the price of £6.95 per month makes it the cheapest around, whereas the limited edition boxes for an extra £10 (making them £16.95) are phenomenal value for money. So many full sized products, natural products and high end products! I’ve never been disappointed with any of the products included. If I were a rich lady, I would subscribe to this box again… and a little niggling part of me really wants to just squeeze it in there because the more I talk about it the more I remember how amazing it is…

5) Love Me Beauty. This is a cute and quirky little box that is quickly gaining popularity with beauty box fans everywhere. It generally contains a mixture of things from makeup and cosmetics to interesting tea bags and funky note pads. I liked this box very much and think a subscription to this would make a great gift as it is so diverse and unique.
